"exceptional converged value proposition" WTF does that mean? Starlink is not attempting to match anything AT&T does, it is attempting to disrupt it.
AT&T CEO in new interview on SpaceX's @Starlink Mobile: "Our competitors cannot and will not match our operating proficiency, network performance, or exceptional converged value proposition. I think LEO constellations are fantastic for delivering bandwidth to rural areas. I wouldn't over-rotate on what I would call one carrier of low-band spectrum." SpaceX said earlier this week that it plans to launch its next-gen Starlink Mobile service, built for 5G speeds, in early 2028, which will for the first time deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum. SpaceX is set to become the fourth major U.S. carrier, which is clearly making T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon, nervous.

As the rate increases Tesla updates this constant in the Javascript code. This is how the counter counts. Its approximately accurate and is reset to a new base and rate on each update. This update could happen hourly or daily.

There is a problem with OpenAI and its IPO. At least for me. I don't trust @sama. He's shown his character. He took a nonprofit, built on a mission to benefit humanity, and effectively turned it into his commercial empire. He stole the nonprofit. He was fired by his own board, then suddenly he wasn't. And now he's taking it public. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But I don't trust him, and I don't want that risk in my portfolio. If anyone were to cook the books in some future quarter, Sam Altman would be high on my list of people I'd worry about. At best, I'd "participate" by getting an IPO allocation and flipping it ASAP. Not for me.

🚨✍️ Calling on the Tesla Board & Special Committee to pursue a merger with SpaceX. The shareholder letter is live. Read it and sign if you agree. Share it with friends & family. Thank you to @Amy787 for drafting this so well. surveymonkey.com/r/mergealre… We want the combined company focused on building, not bureaucracy.

We don't know the car was operating FSD at the time. We know the owner says it was. These are two different things. @SFGate can you confirm the vehicle had FSD engaged at the time?

Are you buying a Cybercab in 2026? I don't think so. Are you riding in one in 2026... absolutely if you make your way to Texas. Austin is flooded. Dallas next. The production ramp is going very smoothly.
Full quote from Lars and Elon about Cybercab: Lars: "We're trying to get Cybercabs to customers by the end of this year, 2026. We're producing them on our line in Texas, but all of those are currently going to our own internal Robotaxi fleet. As Tesla grows, we'll mainly deliver fully designed autonomous vehicles to our customers and Cybercab will be the first. We'll start small this year, and as we learn about all the things Ashok mentioned about delivery, ownership, fleet management and autonomous vehicles in customer hands, we'll continue to scale that." Elon: "Cybercab is primarily something that is offered as transport as a service, whereas our other cars would be more the cars that you'd want to own, like Model 3/Y and Roadster. The vast majority of the Cybercab stuff will be Tesla-owned and transport as a service." Last month (Sept), Tesla introduced a new form that you can fill out if you are interested in purchasing a fleet of Cybercabs: tesla.com/robotaxi/interest

Tesla Earnings Call, my take: Tesla had a great quarter and a bad earnings call. Tesla has an amazing team, from the guy at the top on down. Their execution is exceptional. I respect them greatly. But they can't tell a story. Or didn't today. It was an unforced error. What should have been one of the easiest stories in the world to tell ended up sounding like a box of complexity. On the quarter: Car sales are darn good and getting better. FSD is a main driver, which is exactly what you want to hear. Gross margins beat expectations. Tesla is expanding capacity to meet demand. Very good news. The fundamental business is getting stronger. And the future businesses are taking shape: Robotaxi has moved from a product with technical risk to one increasingly defined by regulatory risk. It works, it's safe, and it's scaling. Technical risk is largely off the table. Cybercab production risk isn't a major concern. Austin is getting bigger, with more cities coming. Optimus is moving, but it's a complex new product. The potential is literally off the charts, and by all accounts Tesla will deliver an exceptional product. But don't count on 2027 being that year. Frankly, I'm happy about this. I felt expectations had gotten ahead of reality. But none of this was communicated clearly. I think Tesla should stop doing these calls. They don't have to. Put out the deck and stop. Compare this to the SpaceX call for contrast. For whatever reason, the SpaceX team, led by the same boss, is much better at explaining a rather complex business in simple terms. The video format helped, too. And this is what makes the Tesla call so frustrating. The underlying story is compelling. Tesla is executing. Its existing business is getting stronger, while Robotaxi and Optimus are moving toward enormous new opportunities. Yet the company made that story harder to understand than it needed to be. For whatever reason. I think this gets fixed when Tesla and SpaceX merge. I think Gwynne Shotwell will find herself in the same overall position at the combined company. She has the right mix of IQ and EQ and is the perfect match for Elon. In the end, execution matters more than an earnings call. Numbers matter. And Tesla is getting there. But this was an entirely avoidable communication failure.

"Keep your eye out for the people who've created nothing and risked nothing, but who are attacking the people who risk everything to create something." 🎯 @Jason
Let me explain reality… if you have but sixty seconds: They were targeting Elon They were targeting him with fake charges because the socialist-industrial complex is terrified that he would expose their long grift. They came after him for the Model 3 and Elon’s claims around its potential. That potential was realized, and it became, along with the Model Y, the best-selling electric vehicle ever created. These were fake charges to try to stop somebody from building the best category-defining product. Let that sink in: that's how evil these motherfuckers are. The loooooong grift has been exposed: socialist grifters are stealing our tax dollars to fund fringe lunacy, NGOs and government programs without oversight or audits. They’re parasites incapable of creating any product or service that has to compete in the open market. Elon creates a couple of cutting-edge products each year, and half of them succeed. Some of them actually change the world. Some of them fail brutally. It's called capitalism. It's called creation. This is what moves the human condition forward: trying things. Trying really hard things. Socialists come for the people building valuable products and services — that’s the tell Keep your eye out for the people who've created nothing and risked nothing, but who are attacking the people who risk everything to create Something. That's the tell.

FSD version 15. Ashok said FSD V15 will soon be available on customer cars, presumably HW4/AI4 vehicles. To be clear, having V15 on your personal car does not mean it will suddenly drive itself unsupervised. You can still use it in supervised mode, as you do today. The next step is enabling customer-owned cars to join the Robotaxi fleet, operating fully autonomously within designated geofenced areas under Tesla's fleet management system. Ashok suggested this could begin around Q2 2027. I don't interpret his comments as saying your personal car will soon be able to drive you around unsupervised, wherever you want to go. The underlying technology may be the same, but there is a fundamental distinction between the two operating models. A car operating as part of Tesla's Robotaxi fleet is subject to geofencing, fleet management and a defined operational and regulatory framework. Allowing individuals to use their own cars for unsupervised autonomous transportation wherever they choose, outside that managed fleet, is a different proposition. There is no established, generally applicable regulatory pathway for that today. This is an operational and regulatory distinction, not necessarily a technical limitation.

Just a tactical play Consider this: SpaceX’s current AI play, building out 10+ GW of compute on Earth, is merely a tactical move. The strategic play is space. Starmind. Where 100 GW is just the starting point. $SPCX
SpaceX could catch Apple next year Let’s wrap a little perspective around this shall we? Apple will do ~$480B in revenue in 2026 and maybe around $530B in 2027. SpaceX and its "little data center business" (this excludes Starlink and any other sources of revenue): SpaceX will have by EOY 2027 13GW of rentable compute, renting at $30B to $50B a GW, that books out to $390B to $650B in revenue once built. SpaceX will close 2026 with 3GW of compute, and hopes to add 10GW of compute next year. $SPCX $AAPL
