2.5m customers for a year one cash impact of £400m - £160/customer - seems like a bargain
BT Group has today announced that it has acquired TalkTalk Telecommunications Limited and PlatformX Communications Limited out of the administration of TalkTalk Group.
This acquisition provides much needed and immediate reassurance for TalkTalk employees, its 1.5 million retail customers and its 1 million wholesale customers across the UK.
These include vulnerable households, and connections that support critical national infrastructure providers across health, emergency services, defence, education, transport, banking and government.

14 Russian spy satellites moved over a US military base in Saudi Arabia two days before a devastating attack by Iran.

Ukraine has quietly pulled off one of its most significant counteroffensive operations of 2026.
Over several months, Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps pushed back Russian forces north of Lyman and cut down a Russian salient that had taken Moscow roughly a year to build.
OSINT analysts estimate Ukraine has retaken around 150–200+ km², with Russian forces pushed back toward the Zherebets River in parts of the sector. The operation has reduced the threat to Lyman and complicated Russia’s attempts to advance toward Sloviansk and the northern Donbas.
Adding more CRH to my portfolio this morning. As Peter Lynch once said: “In dieting and in stocks, it is the gut and not the head that determines the results”.
A remarkable stat in today’s Q2 earnings release. Since 2018 $CRH has repurchased ~24% of its shares. The Group has a terrific long term track record of value creation.
I’ve increased my shareholding in $CRH by a third today. The shares have pulled back 30% from their YTD high and are now trading at a very attractive multiple (12.4x 2028 earnings) for a business of such quality
