Mal ehrlich: Es kann doch nicht sein, dass die Menschheit dauerhaft so dicht am Abgrund steht, nur weil ein paar wenige die Welt brennen sehen wollen!
Warum setzen sich nicht die einflussreichen Menschen zusammen und sorgen machtvoll dafür, dass die Menschheit sicheren Fortbestand hat?
Anstatt dessen müssen wir in den nächsten Wochen wohl wieder eine #Weltklimakonferenz ertragen, die eine einzige Farce sein wird!
Oder erwartet noch jemand etwas anderes?

Pigeons are actually very clean and low transmitters of disease. It's actually the environment they live in which is often dirty. Overflowing bins, old takeaway discarded on the floor, sewage in lakes and streams.

Alex Lewis thought he had flu. The illness eventually cost him both arms, both legs, his lips and part of his nose.
In November 2013, the Hampshire father’s skin began turning purple. He was rushed to hospital, where a Strep A infection had triggered toxic shock and life-threatening sepsis.
He says his family were told he had a 3% chance of survival.
He survived, but surgeons couldn’t save his legs or left arm. They battled to preserve his remaining arm, only to amputate that too around six months later.
He also needed extensive surgery to rebuild his face.
Despite everything, Lewis found a reason to keep going:

Meine 81-jährige Nachbarin hat mir letzte Woche beiläufig erzählt, dass sie im Winter nur ein Zimmer heizt.
Nicht aus Prinzip. Weil die Nachzahlung im letzten Jahr 340 Euro war und sie das nicht nochmal will.
Ich hab sie gefragt, wie hoch ihre Rente eigentlich ist. Sie hat kurz gezögert und es dann gesagt.
Ich habe nachgerechnet. Sie hätte mit ziemlicher Sicherheit Anspruch auf Grundsicherung im Alter.
Sie wusste das nicht. Und als ich es gesagt habe, war ihre erste Reaktion nicht Erleichterung, sondern: “Das ist doch für Leute, die es wirklich nötig haben.”
Sie friert in ihrer eigenen Wohnung und hält sich selbst nicht für bedürftig.
Das ist kein Einzelfall. Das DIW hat berechnet, dass rund 60 Prozent der anspruchsberechtigten Senioren die Grundsicherung nicht beantragen. Hochgerechnet etwa 625.000 Haushalte. Die Gründe: Unwissen, Bürokratie, Scham.
Diese Haushalte könnten ihr Einkommen im Schnitt um fast 30 Prozent steigern. Besonders hoch ist die Quote bei Menschen ab 77.
Wir füllen den Antrag jetzt zusammen aus. Zwei Abende, schätze ich.
Falls ihr Eltern oder Großeltern mit kleiner Rente habt: Fragt nach. Der Anspruch besteht auch neben der Rente und sogar bei Wohneigentum.
Viele lassen jahrelang Geld liegen, das für sie gedacht ist. Nicht weil sie es nicht brauchen, sondern weil ihnen nie jemand gesagt hat, dass es ihnen zusteht.

When an orphan goes wild, or starts a family, it’s the latest chapter in a story that can span decades. And it begins right here, at our Nursery.
It’s where newly rescued orphans find sanctuary and a place to heal. Devoted Keepers watch over them around the clock, guiding them by day and sleeping beside them by night. Raising an orphaned elephant cannot be rushed, and many stay in our care for more than a decade before they are ready to reclaim their place in the wild.

With a year at the Nursery under her belt, Alia is reaching new heights!
Rescue brought lone orphan Alia out of the wilderness, where she was barely fending for herself, and into the sanctuary of our Nairobi Nursery. She arrived shy but, as she recovered, she emerged as a quiet, bright girl and a talented nanny. This morning she took a break from looking after the little ones and, feeling especially intrepid, climbed up to enjoy some tasty, usually out-of-reach greens!

Look at his body.
He is trembling.
This is what street life can leave behind in a tiny animal — fear so deeply learned that even a person simply walking past can make the whole body shrink back.
Outside our walls, these babies learn to survive before they ever learn to play.
Fear of people.
Fear of noise.
Fear of hunger.
Fear of being hurt.
And then they come to us.
At TAWF, we have tried to build something very different from a place where rescued animals are simply kept alive.
We want them to feel safe enough to become children again.
And slowly, the frightened little bodies begin to change.
The puppy who was trembling becomes the puppy climbing into our arms.
The baby who hid becomes the baby demanding attention.
They bark at us, argue with us, follow us everywhere, make trouble, play, cuddle — and finally discover something every animal deserves to know:
I am safe here.
I have a voice here.
I do not need to be afraid anymore.
This is the life we want for every rescued baby who enters our gates.
But winter is coming, and we have so many little ones like these in our care. Please help us keep them warm, protected and comfortable through the cold months.
