In Canada, on October 12th, it will be our Thanksgiving to celebrate the end of harvest season. Reason very unlike the US holiday of the same name held much later in the year. Brings to mind how we can all have gratitude in our lives even if facing challenges.

If you want to know why Americans from all sides of the political spectrum must push back on data centers, look no further than what Google just did to Finland.
Google skipped required environmental assessments and illegally clear-cut 815 acres of pristine forest.
Over 250,000 mature old growth trees were cut down. Habitats destroyed. Wildlife run out of the area, and into nearby villages searching for food.
Worst of all, because the entire operation was illegal, the wood from the site cannot be sold or processed. So 800 acres of old growth forests destroyed needlessly in just months, for one Google data center.
Donald Trump criticized Google for the project, not because of its destruction, but because he wanted the data center built here in America.
This is the future of our beautiful forests, national parks, and public lands in rural communities all across America, if we allow this administration to continue with this lawless destruction. VOTE. 🗳️

Ontario, we complain about property taxes, housing, bad roads, public transit, and the state of our communities. But how many of us actually know who's running in tomorrow's municipal elections? Do you know who your current mayor and councillors are? What have they accomplished?

Willy Field, now sadly no longer with us, was released from Dachau in April 1939 and reached Britain on an agricultural permit.
Interned and shipped to Australia aboard the HMT Dunera, he later returned, joined the British Army and landed on D-Day with the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars.

As a person in recovery this is absolutely appalling.
Rehab centres are supposed to be places where people struggling with addiction go to get help, not places where their vulnerability is exploited for profit.
When recovery becomes more about making money than saving lives, we've lost sight of what treatment is supposed to be about.
People seeking recovery deserve care, not exploitation. Their lives are not a business opportunity. 😡😡

For 43 years, a species of firefly had seemingly vanished.
Nobody had documented it since 1983.
Then, this past June, an entomologist walking through a meadow in Delaware noticed an unusual pattern of amber flashes.
He investigated and discovered something remarkable.
The species was still alive.
And here’s what’s fascinating. Scientists say another 28 species of fireflies in the U.S. and Canada are still considered lost.

Sia has been upgraded to critical condition. She’s going into emergency surgery. Dr went from calm concern to very concerned. Blood work is poor overall. Belly is full of fluid. Liver numbers are high. Very high.
The bill has gone higher. From what I could cover, $3 - 4K, to $5 - 8k.

Paws in for Sia who is spending the night at the Emergency hospital in Idaho Falls.
Sia started vomiting this afternoon. There is much undigested food and a piece of Sylvester the stuffed cat. She continued to vomit. I suspected a blockage and drove her up to Idaho Falls. Her x-ray does NOT SHOW Sylvester the stuffed cat, but it does show an upper abdominal mass that the doctor is very concerned about. Sia is getting fluids along with all of the labs and an ultrasound. The results will guide us to the next part of the plan.

I'd love a share a card scheme for autistic people, so that someone autistic who wants a card( and not everyone does ) can sign up to a website and have a birthday card sent to them when its their birthday,also Im getting older as is my son, be great if I could sign up to something that would continue to send him cards when im sat on the big fluffy marshmallow clouds above drinking a cup of tea watching over him. I mean id send him one myself from the afterlife but by then I probably still wouldn't of finished filling out the many forms to prove that he has a disability lol.
