Hello everyone! I wrote about the decision Jelly made to take out Alexis over Devin, why many of the standard principles of feminism do not apply on #Survivor, and what it means to support female contestants. I’d love to hear what you think! #Survivor51

Daily N95 wear has been a life-changer for me. Not being sick for 6 years was like getting 14-21 days back per year from a single acute illness. Let’s say 84-126 extra healthy days. It’s incredible when you think about it. Masks on planes =no brainer. Daily public masking? Same.
University of Hong Kong researchers analyzed 40 airplane outbreaks of COVID-19 and flu.
Infection risk was highest near infected passengers.
Models found N95 masks nearly eliminated transmission, while doubling ventilation alone was insufficient.

one of my core wounds is that the main thing i remember being told over and over as a LITTLE GIRL was that i “cried too much” and was “too sensitive”

It’s sad to think features like these have survived centuries, thousands of years of human history.
Hooded eyes, aquiline noses, strong eyebrows, round cheeks, thinner lips, tall, larger built, square jaws, the very faces our mothers, our grandmothers carried, all of it stretching back to queens and peasants alike.
Features that have survived it all, seen it all, and all for you to be told now — well it’s just not attractive.
Imagine inheriting a face shaped by the entirety of human history, imagine being blessed with a beauty that has survived the many rises and falls of humanity, only to be told you now have to give it all up to the vanities of this generation. What worth is beauty without any history? What worth is beauty without meaning? What worth is beauty when it stops being something we recognize and instead becomes just something we manufacture?

“They would tell us if it was that bad”.
Nope, they told you in 2022 they were delegating the responsibility for public health to you, you just ignored that part.

Disturbing how numb we've become to having a serial rapist pedophile as our president. Yawning replies from people saying we already know this about him or MAGA laughing despite the scale of victims. The normalization of sexual violence against women & children MAGA has achieved.

We can’t celebrate our birthdays by throwing parties or having a weekend away. We can’t like books and movies “for children”. We can’t collect stuff. We can’t write fanfics or enjoy fandom.
All we’re allowed to do at 30 as women is get married, breed and do our taxes.

Winter is coming, and the rain is on its way. The roof of our house is cracked, but we don’t know if water will come pouring in through these fissures—life is truly working against us. 🥺

the thing is that victims of abuse or people in toxic situations or environments aren’t going to be people you like. they might not even be good people. doesn’t change the fact that what happened to them was wrong. and that perfect victim mentality is gonna eat yall up every time

It’s not narcissistic to celebrate your birthday as an adult and use that as a reason to gather friends together!
Why are people so opposed to enjoying life?

the thing abt “men aren’t allowed to cry” is that women aren’t really allowed to either. women get mocked and berated for crying, and their momentary tears are used to justify their exclusion from “serious” workplaces, environments and activities

Most of the women's beauty standards are rooted in pedophilia. clear skin, hairless bodies, petite frames, innocence, delicacy. women are expected to be sexually desirable while looking as young, untouched and childlike as possible. And we're supposed to find that normal?

i find it hilarious that after decades of squeezing every last drop of blood out of the middle class, now capitalists are complaining that not enough people are eating at restaurants, taking trips, using airlines, or buying crap from box stores.
