Police focused (+ transit & pigeons). The bouncer blocks quickly, sometimes just for bad vibes. Favorite book: "Back from the Brink": https://teapawt.net/t.co/mABbQyS1jf

I just realized I have the biggest non-verified account on Twitter.* *Except for the others. But at least I am still forced to stick to the 280 character limit, for my benefit and yours.

Halloween at The Midget Club, 1968 (6356 S. Kedzie Ave) Owner Parnell St. Aubin was a Munchkin soldier in The Wizard of Oz. The bar operated on the South Side from 1948 to 1982 and had a low bar and bar stools to accommodate the proprietors.

One of my favorite* themes is white liberals with good skin and nice teeth making life worse for black and brown working people trying to make a living. *not. ["Why don't those oppressed peoples realize what is good for them? We're doing it for THEM! I cry for those people!"]

God bless Barack Hussein Obama. I love this man. What a good president (despite what the right AND the left said!) He always had a good sense of humor and timing. And FU, all on the left who gave him shit and helped get Trump elected.
.@BarackObama: I am old enough to remember when a president wearing a tan suit was a major national controversy. They were very upset. And I know I looked good in that suit.

Absolute most braindead sort of protest. No one will defend it on the merits.

Your occasional reminder that the only thing worse than no data is bad data. Just did my first spot check of MTA app live bus passenger count! MTA says there are 64(!) people on my bus. There are 14. *Though FWIW it did close-enough count the 10 people who got off at 7th Ave.

For those who refuse to read the articles about this case. She had a babysitter coming in the mornings to check in, make lunches, get them off to school, and prep dinner for them. All the 14 year old had to do was help them get inside after school. Microwave dinner. Get kids in bed and text mom updates. This was a work trip and they threatened to fire her if she did not go. The father has abuse charges and the police handed him their kids on top of arresting her.

Likely a justified shooting. Off duty FBI agent witnessed shooting and put the ass clown down. Deceased was Venezuelan with a criminal record. Could have been prevented by deporting and/or jailing him-- prior to his demise.
UPDATE: An FBI agent who fatally shot a man Monday near 18th and Union had been driving home in a bureau-issued vehicle when he saw the man fire at least two shots at several other people, the bureau says. chicagotribune.com/2026/10/2…

I FOILed for the number of closed public bathrooms in city parks. The data showed some have been shuttered so long the city couldn’t remember when they were last open. The total? 68. Some have no plans for repairs. The average cost? $5 to $7 million. thecityreporter.nyc/2026/10/…

“Photo Enforced”
East New York A man was taped to a pole after being caught speaking to minors with his pants down. You might say that this is unlawful imprisonment, and you might ask how many times he had been caught in the past, and nothing was done about it.

Several things come together to create students who are unprepared to gain admission to or succeed in New York City's specialized high schools, among the best performing in the world. The solution for some is to destroy those high schools, the essence of shooting the messenger.

One professor punished for speech? An anecdote. A hundred? Cherry-picked. A thousand? Selection bias. Surveys? Bad questions. Better surveys? Methodological concerns! I've spent 25 years watching defenders of the higher ed status quo turn every new piece of evidence into yet another demand for proof, creating a never-ending cycle of increasingly impossible standards for demonstrating problems that were already obvious 50 years ago!

Pure gutter racism that has become normalized.
Trump on El-Sayed: "I call him Muhammed. He goes by Abdul. Abdul Ramadan ... we can't have these people in the United States. With the guy up in Michigan, we're gonna have to do the metal detector test before he's allowed to sit every day."

Dude who got a $4 million city settlement in 2025 sells confidential information for $500 to an inmate "attempting to intimidate a witness in a domestic attempted murder case." But not just any dude, he is the chair of the Philly Police Oversight Commission. Of course he is.
