Anyone else stocking up on rice and dried beans? Preparation for emergency is always good. I also made Pumpkin Butter and GF Pumpkin bread. Pumpkin Butter is emergency food too, Y’all. 😂 I make mine with maple syrup as a sweetener. The key to pumpkin butter is to stir constantly for 20 minutes to avoid it sticking to the pan. 🎃

This is really great info for both LongCovid and POTS sufferers because they’re essentially the same. Note the use of XOLAIR, especially if you have MCAS. It’s a monoclonal antibody injection. My old Mayo Clinic geneticist that specializes in EDS told me that MCAS is a constant driver of POTS.
I recently said I'm feeling good for the first time since developing long COVID. Lots of people asked for meds that helped the most. Here's a list and my general approach. longcovidmd.substack.com/p/m…

You can also disagree and still be friends, follow one another on social media etc. How boring would life be without different opinions?
You can disagree and be kind about it.

Great video. POTS patients do a lot of extra planning for outings. Extra meds, compression and cooling gear, etc. My kitchen tip is to have a counter height stool to help with long periods of cooking. It helps me a lot.
In honor of POTS Awareness Day, I wanted to share a video that I genuinely wish more people would take the time to watch. It’s one of the best videos I’ve come across explaining what POTS actually is and just how debilitating living with this condition can be.

Civilians, are we prepared? Can you survive without fuel, the grid or municipal water?
FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support — no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water. The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis. Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures." Full story here foxnews.com/politics/inside-…

That would be a lot of bottled water. 3 mos. People with well water and wood burning stoves would be okay.

LongCovid Clinical Trials in the U.S. These are free. clinicaltrials.gov/search?co… These could potentially pave the way for real treatments for millions suffering from POTS (Dysautonomia) prior to Covid also.

Great info on Black Walnut trees. They’re also very toxic to dogs. We process a lot of black walnuts for cooking and to give as gifts. It’s labor of love.
Did you know all of this? Black walnuts are one of the best trees to spot in your land and are a bit of a treasure.

I’m going to dip these in beeswax to preserve them and make a leaf garland or two. I won’t press them because I like their natural curls.

We’ve got Google trying to build data centers in the mountains of two counties of SW Virginia. And this is here now. So upsetting to drive through the mountains and see this in Botetourt. The devastation to wildlife is incredibly sad.

This is important. Whatever you do, do not take the order to Quest Diagnostics to have it run. They’re guaranteed to screw it up or not run it at all. I generally like Quest but not for this panel. #POTS #Dysautonomia
🚨if you have hEDS, ME/CFS, and/or long COVID, see if you can get a physician to order LabCorp's Autoimmune Dysautonomia panel. If you feel good, get a baseline, if you feel like shit, get an interval measurement BECAUSE I WANNA SEE IT 🕵️‍♀️👁️ (TBH I'm just a nosy bitch and wanna see if these numbers change for people when they "flare up") Everyone should get this and vascular imaging with a NASA lean and/or tilt test. I'm not a doctor but I'm their boss. (Even better or worse).

I don’t know who needs to hear this but your medical bills will be vastly lower (reasonable) going through a non-profit hospital system than a for profit hospital. The more recent trick that for profit hospitals use on ER patients is to tell them that if they pay several hundred dollars out of pocket at their emergency visit, that they won’t owe more later. However, you will get a $700-$1000 bill later anyhow, even with a PPO insurance plan. Always choose non-profit when you can. Many university hospitals are non-profit and have top tier physicians.
