a surprisingly large part of product design is deciding whether this needs a new screen or just a better sentence.

We tell ourselves, iโ€™m doing all this so i can enjoy life later. and honestly, the reasons make sense.โ€จbut again, how something can make so much sense and still feel a little wrong. Gathered some thoughts here.

Introducing Cardboard for ChatGPT and Claude. You never know when your best ideas will find you. So we made sure that @usecardboard is there, whenever they do. At your desk, or on the go, wherever you are :)

somewhere around comment 47, a figma thread stops being feedback and becomes oral history.

the quickest way to discover a hidden dependency is to rename one field and watch three departments panic.

every startup has one customer request that starts as weirdly specific and ends six months later as the roadmap.

every startup eventually reaches the stage where the homepage says simple and the pricing table requires horizontal scrolling.

A lot of us suck at taking a break. Iโ€™ve been thinking about what a break should feel like, and what mine have actually felt like over the years. I fail to feel present with the people I love. So often, Iโ€™m still thinking about work, feeling guilty for getting nothing done, or mentally checking back in before the break has even ended. We keep optimising ourselves to be better at everything we do. Somewhere along the way, we seem to have become worse at simply being ourselves. Even rest has become outcome oriented to make us more productive tomorrow. Having a life we could enjoy was the whole point of working this hard, but somehow working hard has now become life.
