Coming to Sri Lanka for RareWeek? 🇱🇰 A few of you asked for recommendations, so I put together a little guide covering beaches, surfing, restaurants, nightlife, wildlife safaris, and places worth exploring. Most of these spots are close to Asaya Sands, Mirissa - where we’re hosting RareWeek. A thread 🧵 1/6

Big personal news today: I have decided to leave @a16z, move to SF, and start a company. It's time to build :) It has been almost 10 years since I joined the firm. I met @cdixon, @bhorowitz, and @pmarca in 2017. At the time, I was an engineer at Google Brain working on robotics. I had a deep interest in open source. I knew nothing about investing. Chris meanwhile had already planted the @a16z flag at the frontier that was early crypto with investments in companies like Coinbase. But the crypto team at the firm consisted of only him, and he had the ambition to expand. His pitch to me was simple: "You should leave Google and come help me build the crypto vertical at the firm." The work we've done together since then to build out our team and support our founders has been the most meaningful work of my life. I am grateful to have spent a decade working with everyone here, supporting our founders, learning from Chris, Ben, and Marc, and living the firm's culture. It is a culture that values integrity, life-long working relationships, and the belief that we humans have the power to build our own future. Marc and Ben have built a16z into an incredible force for good in the world. Before I joined the firm, I always thought that my inevitable path was to become a founder. The truth is that I wasn't ready for it then. Somehow, this year I've gotten the overwhelming feeling that this has changed. As for what I want to build: It is early, but I care most about building infrastructure that enables open software ecosystems. I am starting with two core observations: 1. AI today is largely a single-player technology. Most uses involve one human talking with one agent in isolation from the rest of the world. That will soon change. Most uses of AI will soon be many-to-many: many humans and many agents working together. There will be at least one massive open network on top of which those uses will be built. 2. Software is now free. It can now be written just-in-time, on the spot for a single individual's hyper-targeted use case, and it can even be thrown out after a single use. This means that our entire software stack will have to change. In the limit, it will lead to a whole new kind of AI-mediated operating systems, which in turn will create an ecosystem of AI-native developers who build applications that actively rebuild themselves on the fly. If you are working on related ideas, and especially if you are in the Bay Area, hit me up. Let's chat! @bhorowitz , @pmarca, @cdixon, @eddylazzarin, @guywuolletjr, @jasonrosenthal , and our whole team — I want to thank you. Working with you has been the time of a lifetime. I am forever an a16z superfan and your ally. Onward 🫡

I must say that the growth trajectory of @Blockworks in the last 12 months is going to be studied! They have literally transformed the data and analytics game to make the entire industry more investible. I've known @JasonYanowitz since the early days when we we both started grinding in media and watching his growth trajectory shift has been incredible! Keep building bro! Keep growing!

is there someone bringing bitbns exchange users together to lodge something against the exchange and its team? I keep getting automated responses from them but no eta. their website happily allows me to sell and promptly files that with income tax so I end up paying tax on money I never had credited. they won't let me transfer my coins out of the exchange to something which is legit like coindcx. @gauravdahake @bitbns

Day 645: I'm ending my daily journal. For the past 2 years, I've been sharing my trades, airdrops, strategies, wins and mistakes and sometimes way too much information where I diluted myself lol. But I don't want to turn this into a daily obligation just for the sake of keeping the streak alive I've gotten everything I wanted out of this experiment, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me throughout the years. I'll still be around, but from now on I'll only tweet when I have something worth sharing. Thanks for being part of the journey. ❤️

Things to know if you get Cancer (2026 Edition) - I was diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma in my mouth in May 2026, here are some things I learned based on that experience so far. - You need to be doggedly persistent on scheduling things. Yes this means lots of phone calls. If you get an appointment a few weeks out, call back a few days later and ask for something sooner and see if they have any cancellations. I could only get a appt 4 weeks out with an ENT (this was before I knew anything was wrong). My wife made me call back and I was able to get in that week due to a cancellation. - AI’s may downplay the seriousness of things. I was chatting with various models and most pushed me in the direction of “you don’t have cancer” for a while. Just something to note. - You may need to push for comprehensive genetic testing. Some doctors were weird about this and didn’t order it promptly, even after telling me they would. My surgeon who told me he’d get it done, eventually referred me out to an oncologist. This caused a multi-month delay to getting genetic results since the first results were done on the surgery tumor not the biopsy tumor. No one cares more about your case than you, so take control and send lots of follow ups! - You can find the “Standard of Care” flow charts for every cancer type. Look and get through this yourself to see what the options are based on how things have progressed. nccn.org/guidelines/category…. You may need to make an account which you can do as a non professional. I like the .pdf files, they also have a interactive navigator. Use AI to help you figure out what to pick based on your case. - If surgery is recommended, I would try and talk to someone who has undergone the surgery. I did not do this and regret it. Ask them how intense things were, what it felt like etc. My surgeon talked me through my surgery but it was A LOT rougher on me physically than I expected. Ask the surgeon how many of these surgeries they do a year and what the complication rate is. - Get a 2nd opinion as soon as possible. No matter how much you like your plan. This may require a lot of calling and getting on a airplane, but I’d move to schedule it at a top cancer center as soon as you are relatively sure of your diagnosis. Ask for a second read of the pathology at the center where you get the second opinion. - I started a new folder on my Mac and after appointments I’d dictate what happened and what the doctor said and have the AI make a new document summarizing things and asking it’s own follow up questions for next time. Its nice to be able to refer to this over time. Can also download all your pathology, scans so they can be referenced. - Checkout all the resources and materials at sijbrandijfoundation.org/fcc…. @sytses (GitLab cofounder) took matters into his own hands when standard of care ran out. Schedule a call with these guys they are great and have good materials and questions to ask your doctors, etc

here you go bhai, a few from just the last two weeks: IMF raised India’s FY27 growth forecast to 7%, while it’s downgrading most energy importers. morungexpress.com/imf-raises… india pulled $351 BILLION in greenfield FDI from 2021 to 2025, more than double that of China. angelone.in/news/economy/ind… the navy launched its first indigenous 43,500-tonne fleet support ship. navalnews.com/naval-news/202… HAL delivered its 2,000th aero-engine and is scaling su-30 engine output from 30 to 50 a year. swarajyamag.com/defence/from… india added about 29 GW of solar in 7 months, and module manufacturing crossed 200 GW. solarquarter.com/2026/08/19/… the women’s hockey team beat china for its first ever asian games gold. outlookindia.com/sports/othe… onion prices are brutal, fair. but “no positive news” isn’t true.

there’s a hard floor of about $0.0012 per PAPER, because the house always keeps at least ~12% of a win and no strategy gets around that The sweet spot is closing at a 1% move. It costs about 7% more than waiting for 2%, but on average you get there four times faster At 1000x, don’t let the losing leg get liquidated. That pushes your cost to $0.0068 per PAPER, five times worse than a clean close. And moving the second leg to HL doesn’t buy you anything (most probably). The expected haircut stays the same, and the only thing that changes is funding
no reason to ape papertrade in the first hours at all imo mint rate is flat 100 PAPER/$ until LP hits $2M LP starts at 0 → wins get queued, stakers earn 0 until it clears me and my quant are backtesting a hedge with onchain calls. might be something there DMs open if you want in

Hey @WillowVoiceAI your authentication system is breaking every morning for me. Logs me out and then shows authentication error when I try to log in. Somehow in the evening, it works again. This has been happening for the last 3 days now. Paying customer btw.
