⠀⠀ “ i’ve got to tell you about my cows…” he chuckled softly, clutching his bag close to him as if shielding himself from something; he was just… shy around her. “ i, um, you look really beautiful today. ” ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

⠀⠀ “ but you know i don’t have any exciting stories to tell you. ” clark’s life had been quiet, split between the farm and work. he started walking toward the exit & took the elevator. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

⠀⠀ “ oh, yes, absolutely ! ” he nodded, picking up his work bag. inside, he was bursting with joy. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

⠀⠀ “ trust me, i’ll be the next miss lane. ” he chuckled softly, adjusting his glasses. he looked at her, taking in every detail; his eyes sparkled with tenderness & respect. “ well, uh… sorry, i should leave you alone. ” ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

⠀⠀ “ you’re the best. if anyone deserves it here, it’s you. ” he smiled tenderly at her, but he barely moved as he felt her arms wrap around him; he was as if frozen in place. “ i, uh… ” he finally put an arm around her, blushing. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
