The NFL will paint “End Racism” in the back of the end zone... Then threaten a linebacker's career for acknowledging ethnically motivated, state-sponsored homicide of kids. The NFL fines players for alcohol-related celebrations because “the children are watching”— while running ads for Bud Light. The performative hypocrisy and vacuous platitudes are disrespectful. Respect to Azeez Al-Shaair 💯
Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was told by an NFL official to remove the name of Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, from his eye black during the Texans’ Week 2 game or he would not be allowed to continue playing, according to a league source. According to Reuters, Wafaa Akila was killed earlier this month by an Israeli airstrike. nyti.ms/4yWHU5I

So the NFL has told Azeez Al-Shaair they’ll remove him from the game if he wears a Palestinian child’s name, who was killed by Israeli airstrike, on his eyeblack. Psychotic. This harms no one by letting him do this. I think it’s absurd they were fining him, but those were the “rules” and he agreed to pay the fine. Removal from the game is INSANE. This shouldn’t stand!

Despite the fines and mounting pressure, Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair continues to honour Palestinian children killed in Gaza. This time, it’s Lana, 12, and Bana, 8, who were killed alongside their family in an Israeli attack earlier this month.

Tempe has turned off its Flock automated license plate reader system and will end its contract with the company. The cameras are no longer collecting license plate data, and Tempe will not seek another company to replace the system. While the cameras have helped Tempe Police solve crimes, recent misuse of automated license plate reader systems in Arizona and nationwide has raised concerns about the risks that come with the technology. Tempe Police has found no misuse of its own Flock system. Flock will remove its cameras, and previously collected data will be automatically deleted after 30 days unless it is connected to an ongoing case or investigation. Read through the slides to learn more about the decision and what it means for Tempe.

RIP Salad and Go. Started by two ppl in AZ who wanted good food to be as cheap and fast as McDonalds. Then private equity bought it in 2020, forcefed it growth it couldn't digest, and rode it into Chapter 11. Founders exit rich, we lose somethin good. Vampire squid strikes again.

It’s all talk. Just withhold foreign aid to Israel for a month and they’ll stop bombing their neighbors - instant peace, the Strait of Hormuz can be opened, and gas drops $2 a gallon. Israel has been, and continues to be, the biggest welfare recipient from American tax payers.
"You're f****** crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your a***. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this." That's what a U.S. official tells Axios President Trump unloaded on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated phone call over Israel's military actions in Lebanon. Trump was reportedly furious that Israel's moves risked blowing up U.S. diplomatic efforts in the region, at one point also asking Netanyahu: "What the f*** are you doing?"

I think just what they need is a 60 square mile data center to take the last drops of water. Water isn't really that important anyway.
Utah officials have declared a statewide emergency following one of the worst snow seasons on record. This winter was so poor that officials dubbed it a “no-pack” season, with mountain snowpack ending near all-time lows. Snowpack serves as the West’s natural frozen reservoir. Each spring and summer, melting snow slowly releases water into rivers, reservoirs, farms, cities, and ecosystems. This year, that critical system largely collapsed. Since April 1, much of Utah has seen only 50–75% of normal precipitation. More than 60% of the state is now in extreme drought. The impacts are already hitting hard. Farmers face sharply reduced water allocations, Salt Lake City has urged residents to cut outdoor water use by 20%, and major reservoirs like Lake Powell sit at critically low levels, threatening hydroelectric power and putting further strain on the entire Colorado River system. Scientists warn this is part of a broader, long-term shift across the American West. Climate change is driving warmer temperatures that cause snow to melt earlier, increase evaporation, and turn more winter precipitation into rain instead of snow. Rain runs off quickly, making it far harder to store water for the dry summer months ahead. The drought has also dramatically raised wildfire risk, as dry vegetation and low soil moisture turn landscapes into tinder. While summer thunderstorms may bring temporary relief, officials say they are unlikely to solve the deepening water deficit. This crisis underscores just how dependent the Western United States remains on mountain snow, and how fragile that system becomes when winters stop delivering as they once did.
