This is what it's all about. If you don't have 96 hours passed towards a degree, let's not even entertain a conversation about a 5th season of eligibility. GRADUATION is the goal, you won't sit around with soph/junior credit hours thinking you're getting a 5th year once passed.
More details on the NAIA's five seasons of competition proposal in today's NAIA.ticker.
If approved:
➤ The fifth season would be available to “all 2026-27 incoming and current student-athletes.”
➤ Student-athletes would be required to complete 96 credits to earn the fifth season of competition.
➤ The 20% rule, as it relates to competition, would be eliminated.
The five seasons over ten terms of attendance vote will take place virtually on November 4 at 1pm CT.
The TBR Mother’s Day Classic has had a lot of great athletes over the years! #baseball #travelbaseball #committed
Lots of great options with over 40 turf fields and excellent destinations with high level competition. #baseball #travelbaseball play.travelbaseballrankings.…
There is something special about playing at Meijer Sports Complex in Rockford, Michigan.
The complex has become one of West Michigan’s premier baseball destinations, featuring multiple tournament fields and a fully turfed Championship Field that gives players a true big-game atmosphere.
What makes the experience even better is everything surrounding the complex. Downtown Rockford and Grand Rapids are nearby, with restaurants, shopping, attractions, trails and plenty for families to do between games. And a short drive west takes you to Lake Michigan beaches, waterfront towns and some of the best summer sunsets in the Midwest.
The TBR Great Lakes World Series isn’t just another tournament weekend for 9u-18u teams…
It’s great baseball, a championship atmosphere and a chance to turn a baseball trip into a West Michigan summer getaway. #grandrapids West Michigan Sports Commission #baseball #lakemichigan play.travelbaseballrankings.…

THIS IS CRIMINAL!!!
@PerfectGameUSA is FLEECING families who are only trying to give their kids the opportunities they naively believe are necessary for their kids to get exposure!
#PerfectScam could care less about your kids or your kids future unless of course they perform at a HIGH LEVEL and then PG will use your son to promote itself!
This SCAM has been going on for a long time and will continue until parents say “Enough is enough!”

Have you ever wondered why travel baseball is so expensive? I registered for a three game guarantee tournament in Jacksonville Florida for two teams. My cart included the PG team registration fee of $99.00 per team. A $1600 hotel penalty. A $590 gate fee and the normal registration of $1295 per team for two teams. This brings the total to $4978 to bring two teams to Jacksonville for a three game guarantee tournament. That is $830 per team per game.
Our group travels in vans and packs kids into air BnB houses to make it affordable for parents that can't attend because of something called work. Perfect Game not only mandates hotel rooms but the requirement of 34 rooms is absolutely criminal. Any team on a budget that travels with the team and coaches would not need close to that many rooms. They would put four kids in a room and have a coaches room in essence needing five rooms.
Perfect Game assumes this is vacation time for the kids and parents and everyone has money to spend and vacation leave time. NLB is in the panhandle of Florida and parents bust their asses to be able to provide their kids the travel ball experience. We do everything in our power to make it affordable for parents and Perfect Game should do the same.
Hi Ryan,
I assume you are inquiring about the removal of the hotel waiver fees associated with the PG BCS 18U National Championship.
Unfortunately, we are not able to remove these fees, as the PG Lodging Policy was agreed to at the time of tournament registration. Since your team is located approximately 300 miles from the event location, the team is required to fulfill the minimum hotel requirement of 34 room nights.
Between the two teams, there was only 1 reservation made, totaling 4 room nights. As a result, the required room-night minimum was not met, and the hotel waiver fee remains applicable for both teams.
Thank you for your understanding.

And yet…everyone keeps going back. If we do stay to play we have a reasonable room buy out of less than $50 per family for the whole tournament and no gate over $350(5GG). We have calculated a loss(savings for teams) of over $360+ per team with that method. Other Gate structures depend on the park: $15 per day per car load at one location, $10 per day at another. Almost $5k for a tournament is price gouging. Especially a 3GG.

🔥 UNPOPULAR OPINION: D1 ISN’T ALWAYS THE BEST COLLEGE BASEBALL OFFER.
For years, travel baseball has conditioned players and parents to believe there is one ultimate goal:
DIVISION I.
But in today’s college baseball world, that thinking may be outdated.
⚾ D1 roster sizes are limited to 34 players.
⚾ The transfer portal has given coaches access to players who have already proven they can perform at the college level.
⚾ Because of that, some D1 coaches may only take a chance on 2–3 high school players in a recruiting class, depending on the program and its needs.
Think about that.
You can be an outstanding high school player and STILL not get the D1 opportunity you expected.
But here’s the part that doesn’t get talked about enough…JUCO, NAIA, D2 and D3 baseball is REALLY good.
There is more parity throughout college baseball than many families realize. Some JUCO, NAIA and D2 programs have facilities and resources that rival — and sometimes exceed — those of certain D1 programs. And many upper level teams in each division could very much compete and beat D1 teams. Yes you heard that right. D1 coaches even know this.
Some players can put together better overall financial packages at JUCO, NAIA or D2 schools than they would at a D1. D3 doesn’t offer athletic scholarships, but strong academic and need-based financial aid can make some D3 opportunities extremely attractive financially. And JUCO?
And here’s the biggest question:
Would you rather SAY you’re D1…or actually PLAY college baseball?
Would you rather sit behind older transfers at a D1?
OR…
Start immediately at a JUCO?
Become an impact player at a strong D2?
Develop into a star at an NAIA?
Play four years at a great D3 while receiving an outstanding education?
The old thinking was:
D1 > D2 > NAIA > D3 > JUCO
College baseball simply doesn’t work that way.
There are JUCO, NAIA, D2, and D3 players who could absolutely play D1 baseball. There are future professional players at EVERY level. And there are D1 players sitting on benches who could be impact players somewhere else.
Parents and players need to stop choosing schools based primarily on the logo, conference or division.
Choose the OPPORTUNITY.
Choose the school where the coach WANTS YOU and YOU ARE FAMILY!
Choose the place where you can DEVELOP.
Choose the option that makes financial sense for your family.
Choose the school that provides a great education and college experience.
And if JUCO gives you two years to develop and creates a better opportunity afterward?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with betting on yourself.
Because the accomplishment isn’t putting “D1” in your social media bio.
The accomplishment is earning the opportunity to PLAY COLLEGE BASEBALL.
👇 BASEBALL PARENTS, COACHES, PLAYERS— WHAT ARE YOU CHOOSING?
Would you pay more money to go D1 over any other divisions? If so, what would that threshold be and what other variables would take into consideration?
