🚨FreightX Emergency Alert System🚨
The freight community here has been bubbling up for some time. Lately, we've seen vibes reach a critical mass.
I propose a simple test of the size & scale of our community. A census, if you will.
If you (individual or company) are part of FreightX, then comment + like + repost this.
I will follow every account who hops on this post.

With the 2nd day of running in the snow behind me. I averaged 57 miles a hour. 620 miles at 60 mph. Fuel discount was $1.30 off a gallon. Cost per mile is 40 cents.
I look after the pennies and the dollars look after themselves.

Read @FreightAlley's article.
I'll leave the market analysis to Craig and focus in on the points he makes on the broker/carrier relationship
Brokers are the gateway to small carrier capacity
(99% of 531,000 carriers are under 100 truck fleets)
Why? Because the carrier "map" is fogged
Ever start a new video game and the game map is blank? Only after you discover a place is it uncovered on the map
This is analogous to the carrier map
Every broker has their map of the carrier world. A high-fidelity map is a competitive advantage. A better map will enable them to quote freight aggressively and with confidence
Craig: "Shippers both large and small now rely on freight brokers’ deep databases of reliable carriers to ensure that their loads are shipped and delivered on time"
Finding the right carrier for a spot load or contract lane isn't as simple as a simple Google search
Without brokers, many shippers would quite simply not be able to get their freight moved
Conversely, without brokers, many carriers would not have access to any freight, as brokers (as Craig mentions) "often take on the sales and customer service roles that small carriers cannot afford."
The only way this changes (if it ever does - keep reading) is if the carrier map is less fogged for EVERYONE and finding relevant carriers were as simple as a search
I often think of @LOSTFR8_ as platform that enables a carrier to put themselves on the map. All the info about their company that a shipper or broker needs to start working with them
In fact, I thought of our logo at first as a signal fire that a carrier stranded on a desert island would light to get noticed, to put themselves on the map, so to speak
But even if every carrier in the US had a LOST FR8 profile and were easily "findable" on the map, brokers still serve a purpose for both shippers and carriers.
So if I'm a carrier, I'm signing up for LOST FR8, putting my profile link everywhere, sending trucklists daily, etc. I am making sure my broker and shipper customers never forget I exist.
If I'm a carrier, I'm putting myself on the map.
Anywho, back to work.
This freight recession is unlike any other in history.
The reason: freight brokerages play a far more significant role in the trucking market than they did during past freight recessions.
