Scientists from the Geological Survey of India along with the operational staff periodically take inland traverses in the #Wohlthat-Gruber mountain ranges of East #Antarctica. Glacial monitoring & geological sampling were conducted on one such field trip from 28Dec'23 to 6 Jan'24

Dec 1 marks two important signings: In 1959, the Antarctic Treaty was signed, designating the continent as a scientific preserve. In 2005, the Labrador Inuit Lands Claims Agreement was signed, establishing the Government of Nunatsiavut and solidifying Inuit self-determination.
