Literally everyone is for this. We either get energy permitting reform done now and those who support have amazing affordability narrative going into November, or it’s one of the greatest indictments of a broken Washington.
Choose the former, and deliver relief for the American people NOW!

I appreciate CEBA’s support for the Geothermal Energy Advancement Act.
This bipartisan package brought together five geothermal bills into one commonsense solution. Now it’s time for the Senate to act!
Replying to @CEBAPower
Thank you to House leadership, @RepWesterman, @RepHuffman, @RepJeffHurd, and @RepSusieLee for their support of this critical electricity source.
"Now it’s time for the Senate to advance this commonsense policy solution, providing needed regulatory certainty to ensure a thriving American geothermal industry." -@REnglandDC, CEBA Sr. Director of Gov. Affairs

We hope the Senate will now take this language and strengthen those protections for existing and new projects needed to maintain grid reliability and meet growing electricity demand. The Senate also has a chance to pair this language with reasonable reforms to expand America’s transmission system. We call on Sens. Shelley Moore Capito, Sheldon Whitehouse, Mike Lee, and Martin Heinrich to move beyond trading concepts toward more active negotiations. The time is now, the issues are understood, and America can’t wait any longer."
Big permitting reform milestone today from the U.S. House.
Statement from CEBA CEO @powellrich on the House passage of the SPEED Act:
"CEBA appreciates the efforts of House Natural Resources Committee Chair Bruce Westerman alongside Speaker Mike Johnson and subcommittee Chair Pete Stauber to advance meaningful permitting reform. America’s permitting system has restricted our economic growth for too long, and increasing partisanship has only made it harder. Last-minute changes to the SPEED Act undercut the bill’s intent to provide certainty to American business. However, we are encouraged by the bipartisan negotiations that occurred in recent weeks. We especially applaud the work of Reps. Jared Golden, Scott Peters, Josh Harder, and others in seeking to amend the bill to provide greater certainty for energy projects.
Now a week overdue, honored to have led @RepFrankLucas' House Science Portrait Committee and had the privilege of discussing the tremendous impact he's had over 31 years of service during the unveiling.
Huge thanks to the many friends and colleagues who joined us for a great evening and contributed to the fine portrait; to @SpeakerJohnson, @ZoeLofgren @RepBrianBabin, @TomColeOK04 who offered moving tributes on Frank's legacy; and to the incredible staff in @RepFrankLucas's office
Always a bipartisan and thoughtful bridge-builder on @housescience, we'll still be thanking Frank for his leadership 50 years from now when advanced nuclear reactors power quantum computers charting our course on missions across our solar system - all due to the policies he and his colleagues on @housescience put in place. Thank you for your visionary leadership!
My friend @reinpk from @CharmIndustrial last week wrote one of the clearest, most compelling cases on the need for broad permitting reforms to deliver avoided emissions and clean energy faster & more affordably. Worth a read to understand the enormous stakes of our current permitting reform debate -- and well timed given the great bipartisan progress from @NatResources with the SPEED Act last week.
My lobbyists are very nervous about me posting this, but over-regulation is working against us all. The costs are astronomical to us all, but hidden.
So, I'm taking a risk, and sharing my stories from Charm and Revoy:

Re-upping the exciting news last week from @CleanEnergyBA's Board Chair @michael_terrell on @Google's first-of-its-kind agreement to purchase most of the power from a new gas plant equipped with carbon capture and storage technology.
This kind of innovation is critical to reducing emissions while ensuring the U.S. can provide reliable, affordable electricity needed to meet demand from growing industries.

Excited to announce that @Google has signed a deal for the first commercial scale natural gas-fired plant with carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the US.

On behalf of @CleanEnergyBA, I am deeply grateful for the leadership, resolve, and foresight demonstrated by Senators @SenJohnCurtis, @ChuckGrassley, @SenJoniErnst, @lisamurkowski, and @SenThomTillis over the past few months in delivering business certainty for the energy buying community. America’s industries and electricity customers at every scale will have lower cost, more reliable, cleaner power in the future due to you. Thank you.
Incredibly important days for low cost reliable American energy. Follow along @CleanEnergyBA as Senate process moves forward today and tomorrow.
Clean Energy Buyers Association is closely following the Senate’s amendment votes today on the #OBBBA #BigBeautifulBill. This is critical legislation, but CEBA’s 400+ members who represent many of the largest energy buyers in America need targeted fixes. These amendments are fair and help with energy costs 🔽🔽🔽
The data is clear: Repealing technology-neutral energy tax credits would raise costs for families and businesses, reduce jobs, and slow our economic momentum.
This is about securing America's energy future, driving private investment, and keeping energy affordable and reliable across all states — red and blue.
I encourage policymakers to prioritize smart, market-driven energy policy that supports economic strength and U.S. energy independence.
Repealing technology-neutral energy tax credits = higher energy bills, fewer jobs, and a weaker U.S. economy.

Enjoyed joining @Chuck Hanna on Plugged In: Exploring Energy from @Constellation to talk all things clean energy — policy, innovation, and the road ahead. We covered CEBA’s vision for a carbon emissions-free electricity system, the challenges of rapid load growth, and the critical need for permitting reform. Thanks to Constellation for the conversation and for being a key CEBA member!

It is absolutely vital to the stability and affordability of the American electricity system -- and the innovation economy it supports -- that we get this right. Several thoughtful Republican House Members offer a better path forward on energy tax credits that responsibly balances business certainty and fiscal responsibility: kiggans.house.gov/posts/kigg…
The Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) today commented on the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee’s energy credit provisions in its federal tax package draft bill: “Preserving the federal technology-neutral energy tax credits is crucial for supplying the energy needed to serve the 21st century industries of the United States and to drive American innovation and energy dominance. As electricity demand rapidly increases now and in the years ahead, we need more options, not less,” said CEBA CEO Rich Powell. cebuyers.org/blog/ceba-state…
To maintain energy affordability and economic growth, we MUST maintain the technology neutral tax incentives (48E and 45Y) through this period of rapid electricity demand growth.
NEW study from @NERA_Economics: If federal clean energy tax credits (48E & 45Y) are repealed, American households would pay an additional $110 per year in electricity bills. Read more: cebuyers.org/blog/ceba-repor…
