Rarely tweet at this time. When my sleep got disturbed, I looked at the phone. Microsoft is laying off 60,000 employees, 27% of its workforce across the world. This includes India as well. The term used is Voluntary Exit Offers (VEOs). Mails are already out to these employees. They are offered some separation benefits and asked to leave. Usually what happens in the industry is that if they don’t accept the voluntary exit offer, they are subsequently laid off. When you get laid off, separation benefits are not provided. Though called voluntary, in all likelihood these 60,000 people would have no option but to leave the company. At least from now on, the Finance Minister should consider not taxing severance benefits. Suddenly overnight, a huge number of employees in one of the world’s largest companies are facing an uncertain future. Already Oracle, including their Indian operations, has laid off a huge number of people. The trend is expected to follow. At least now you would understand why I’ve been saying for the last couple of years to create safe money worth 3 years of living expenses and not to go for any loans, including buying a house. The impact of IT professionals losing jobs would start showing on premium consumption, real estate prices and reduced demand across the economy. As I said, things would become worse before they become better. Newer industries and opportunities would come in the future. But the transition period is going to be painful.

The greatest mystery in Indian economics: You spend 15 years studying, land a job and watch 30% TDS disappear before your salary even hits your bank account. Meanwhile, the local ward corporator, who has no traceable business on paper: Cruises in a convoy of 2 white fortuners, builds a multi crore mansion in your locality, and spends your entire annual CTC just putting up birthday hoardings across the junction. In India, an honest corporate career buys you a 20 year EMI. Local politics buys you generational real estate. We aren't paying taxes for public infrastructure. We’re crowdfunding VIP lifestyles.

Peter Koch, editor and publisher of the long-running Moon Miner's Manifesto, passed away on October 8. He was 88. Peter advocated for developing and settling the Moon for most of his life. Whether through the NSS or the Moon Society, which he helped create, Peter held the knowledge, lore, and spirit that kept it all going. He will be sadly missed. nss.org/remembering-peter-ko…

It's not Rahul Gandhi or any other oppostion leader, it's not CJP, its not YouTube Journalists, It's Trump who has fractured Modi's "strong PM" image that he built over last 12yrs by spending public money on foreign travels and PR. From Op sindoor ceasefire announcement to High tariffs to different restrictions on IT companies, he keeps challenging us and we can't even counter it confidently.
#WATCH | US President Donald Trump says, "...You stop India and Pakistan, two nuclear nations... I said, "Fellas, if you guys are going to do that, you're not going to trade with the United States...I'm going to put massive tariffs on both of you, 250 percent, so you won't be able to do any business." They got very upset, very angry; they stopped shooting, and the war was over...Eleven planes were shot. I stopped all these wars, and it's really an honor to do so..." (Video Source: Reuters)

People often say that After Modi, make Yogi as PM. No, don't give any man to run the country who doesn't have a wife and children. For that matter even Rahul Gandhi should not be PM Unless he gets married. You can't run a country who is deeply into culture of marriage, families without you yourself having the experience of > Handling a woman's mood swings, this itself teaches how to handle public sentiments at large. > How to Find time for wife and children so that you don't claim to work 20hrs a day and promote toxic work culture > buying groceries, vegetables and daily needs items to know the real Inflation is way more than offical data. > So, you don't go on secret foreign vacations without any reason. You've someone to answer at home. > So that you know how young generation think, what they want and you know your bad policies will impact your own children in future because they'll have a life to live even after you're gone.
