Dear citizens of Mumbai , What are you afraid of ? You got literal l poop in drinking water, and poison in the air. Poison kills life, what’s worse than death ? Why does the richest civic body in the world @mybmc think they can GET AWAY by doing this to you ? There’s like 3 CMs, what is the plan of action for air? You’ve always had terrible roads, now you have shit air and water too. Why do you pay so much tax to die via slow poisoning ? Mumbai contributes so much tax to the centre, what does it get in return? 7500 more trees are supposed to be cut. Why should a handful of environmentalists be constantly raising their voice for you? Are you cowards ? Why have you outsourced all courage to the young ? Ask questions, raise your voice! You don’t deserve this !

A girl from IIT Bombay who was there during the incident has shared the whole story.🚨 Q: Were you and Sahil in the same course? And were you there when the professor caught him cheating? Girl: Yes, we were in the same course. Around 1 PM, the Suryanarayana sir caught Sahil cheating. He didn’t shout at him. He said, “What are you doing? This is unfair to other students. Don’t panic. Everyone makes mistakes.”👏 Q: But many are saying Prof. Suryanarayana discriminated against students based on caste? Girl: Never. Suryanarayana sir was one of the best prof. we had. He always taught us with jokes in between and never treated anyone differently. My grades in Power Electronics have improved a lot because of him.🥺💛

INDIA 🇮🇳 NEEDS A MASSIVE CIVIC MOVEMENT. Even as the largest growing major economy, India continues to be one of the filthiest nations with corrupt, non-functional municipalities, terrible urban infrastructure, shockingly bad civic and traffic sense, and no punishment for treating the country like a dump yard, either for officials or citizens. Unless civic governance and civic sense is fixed, I’m afraid we will remain the Third World.

Kissing in public, hugging, holding hands, showing cleavage, wearing short clothes in home or outside-"Our culture is getting ruined, yaar." But damn, our parents' generation had such a beautiful culture, right? 1) Peeing in public. 2) Beating your wife. 3) Creating a scene in front of the entire neighbourhood. 4) Killing a girl before she was even born 5) Marrying off girls who hadn’t even finished school (or started periods). 6) Treating widows like they were already dead — white sari, no bangles, no second chance 7) Pushing widows onto their husband’s funeral pyre (Sati still happening in pockets). 8) Declaring a woman a “dayan” and beating or burning her for “witchcraft.” 9) Taking dowry. Surely, what a glorious culture that was.

Just like that actress who genuinely seems convinced that India is waiting breathlessly for her next intellectual revelation, I chose to wait a few days before saying this. There is something profoundly vulgar about sitting centuries away, in the safety of hindsight, and reducing the choices of Rajput women to the vocabulary of the body. The Ranis who chose jauhar did not exist merely as bodies waiting to be interpreted through someone else’s politics. Whatever one thinks of the practice today, those women understood their circumstances, made choices within the world they inhabited, and acted upon convictions that were theirs. Their courage, however alien it may seem to a modern mind, cannot simply be stripped of agency and translated into the language of sexual anatomy. Yet here we are - a woman perched comfortably on the high chair of modern enlightenment, dispensing retrospective gyan, while reducing Veeranganas to nothing more sophisticated than vaginas. What an extraordinary poverty of imagination! You do not honour women by denying them the capacity to possess convictions you find uncomfortable. You do not liberate historical women by insisting that their decisions can only be understood through your preferred modern vocabulary. And you certainly do not demonstrate intellectual superiority by replacing their minds with their bodies. Vagina or not, you crass woman, the obscenity is not in what those women chose. It is in your inability to imagine them as anything more than their sex. Those women had minds. They had convictions. They had courage. They had an understanding of dignity shaped by their own time, their own world and their own circumstances. You are entitled to disagree with their choices. But you will be intellectually inoculated in democratic spaces if you erase their agency simply because their conception of dignity does not flatter yours. That is not intellectualism. That is historical arrogance dressed up as enlightenment.

I remember this so distinctly from my childhood. The Ganesh idol was brought in cloaked, its face covered, and without the band, baaja and general fanfare There was a pooja at the ‘sthapana’, the installation of the idol. THIS WAS the tradition! The festivities, processions and dancing were reserved ONLY for immersion day Cut to Parel today For 4-5 weekends before Ganesh Chaturthi, large idols are being transported to various pandals from the workshops with full processions, music and crowds Entire streets are shut down. Traffic is gridlocked. Residents in the entire neighbourhood are effectively placed under house arrest. Not once. Every single weekend. For over a month Surely faith and consideration for everyone else can coexist? If we’re invoking tradition, then perhaps follow the tradition. Bring the idol from the workshop to the pandal quietly, respectfully and efficiently. Save the glorious noise, dancing and celebration for immersion day, as it was always done. Celebrating your faith is absolutely your right. But repeatedly bringing an entire neighbourhood to a standstill cannot be a prerequisite for doing so. There has to be a reasonable middle ground.

Mumbai: It Took a Foreigner to Show the Dirt We’ve Normalised for Years A blogger from Finland has brought attention to the condition of railway tracks and nearby areas in Mumbai through a video that is now going viral on social media. The video shows garbage, poor sanitation and neglected surroundings along parts of the railway corridor, highlighting concerns about cleanliness and public hygiene. The foreign visitor’s footage has sparked fresh debate online about urban infrastructure, waste management and the need for better maintenance of public spaces. Many users have urged authorities to take immediate steps to improve conditions and maintain the city’s image. #MumbaiNews #RailwayUpdate #UrbanIssues #CleanMumbai #Punetimesmirror

🔥 We took the bullets. They hired the lawyers. The Govt just spent ₹244 CRORE in legal fees to fight its own soldiers in court. The goal? To stop them from getting benefits worth just ₹109 CRORE. They literally paid lawyers 2.2x MORE, just to deny justice to our troops. Taxpayer money burned. Heroes harassed. Bureaucracy 1, Logic 0.

About time Mumbai citizens understand that not asking questions has consequences. Horrible AQI, dug-up roads, ridiculous metro planning, people falling off local trains - we somehow put up with too much.

Plight of Mumbaikars nowadays- Can't travel safely by local trains as you may fall from it due to overcrowding and missing doors. Can't travel by metros because it is still under construction (for most lines) Can't use BEST buses as the number of buses have reduced. Can't walk safely as footpaths are either absent or encroached. Can't travel safely by road because you never know what will fall on you and end your life.

Mumbai is the MOST corrupt city in India probably by a huge margin. The commercial capital of India has the worst roads (have seen village roads in almost every Indian state in the last 2 years and they are better), atrocious urban planning, & complete disregard for human life.
