I write on Sharjeel Imam as a committed democrat who deserves a place in a radical democratic project of the future, one focused on the liberty and equality of all. telegraphindia.com/amp/opini…

Folks, we custom-built an escape-room like game! Dogfooded it internally, and was a riot. 90-minutes. An Alter event unlike any other. (would expect nothing less) A cracking article that takes you on a rich and complex journey on how India saved the tiger. Only 50 spots!
In the 1970s, scientists from an institution wanted to study tigers in India. They were turned away amid war and suspicion of CIA links. They took their research to Nepal instead, and their work there ended up proving India’s tiger count wrong. This institution was founded in 1846 with money bequeathed by a British chemist who never once set foot in the country that now hosts it. Its collections include the Hope Diamond, Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz, and Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis. Name the institution. (answer in the next tweet) Alter Issue #7 event is a riot for all. It decodes India's rich history in saving the big cat. But... But... We custom-built a game for the event. 50 people in one room with ninety minutes to untangle an escape-room puzzle that will stretch your mind, test your friendships, and demand you win over a room of rivals and allies. The objective is simple: FIND THE TIGER. 📅 31st October 🕒 3:00 pm 📍 Sthala (MG Road) 💺 50 seats REGISTER ASAP: luma.com/ghyfu6jt

Who is Mohan Bhagwat to lecture the nation? Head of an unregistered, amorphous organisation that answers to no law, no accountability, and no Constitution. Yet @RajatSharmaLive presents him as the conscience-keeper of India. This is the same Bhagwat who stays silent when citizens are lynched, silent on SIR irregularities that disenfranchise millions, silent on the systematic othering of minorities, and silent as democratic institutions are hollowed out. Forked tongue. Selective morality. Zero legitimacy.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has warned those who are talking about regime change through public unrest. He said, democracy in India has strong roots; neither did regime change happen in the past nor will it happen in future. Bhagwat said, those who do not agree with the conspiracy for regime change should look at what is happening in France, Italy and Albania. The RSS chief’s message is clear : both the RSS and BJP are on the same page as far as anti-Modi protests are concerned. Bhagwat lashed out at Prashant Bhushan’s ‘regime change’ remark and Neha Bora’s call for a Bangladesh-type revolt. He is quite clear that the agitation against CEC is only a façade and the real aim is to unseat Narendra Modi. Modi's opponents are going to find Mohan Bhagwat's another comment hard to swallow. Bhagwat said, the RSS, through its vast network, contacted nearly 10 crore families across India, organized 'yuva sammelans', and directly contacted more than 3.9 million youths. All anti-Modi political parties, left outfits and so-called civil society people combined do not have the strength to match the RSS even one per cent, as far as direct contact is concerned.

Dear @Asad_Ashraf88, I wish we did better at surrounding one another with palisades of companionship. You should not have to feel alone when you speak for so many among us. I am sorry that you have been relentlessly trolled. It is a savage army -- but also a vacuous and fearful one. This country was built on friendship and dreams of equality, and though the fight is hard and unequal, these dreams will always break through. Take care; it can help to switch your mentions off for a while and then return to the fray. You place me in elevated company; I do very little but am glad to be reminded that there is and will always be hope for a brighter future, a better India. 🔥💚
My post on Sharjeel Imam has wreaked havoc, and I have been subjected to relentless abuse and trolling ever since. Nevertheless, I refuse to lose hope in my beloved country. This is the same country where countless people from the majority community continue to stand up for truth and justice, even when doing so comes at a cost. Some of my favourites are @Apoorvanand__, @manojkjhadu, @harsh_mander, @nilanjanaroy, @SaketGokhale and @Aakar__Patel. The list is long, and it would be impossible to name everyone. Then there are the courageous voices from minority communities who refuse to be browbeaten into silence despite threats, abuse and vicious trolling. People like @zoo_bear, @RanaAyyub, @ghazalawahab Wahab, @hussainhaidry, @AdityaMenon22 @ziyaussalam among many others, continue to speak up, question, report and resist. Their courage and conviction remind me that India is much more than the hatred that often dominates our public discourse. There are still people willing to stand by truth, justice and constitutional values, even when doing so comes at a personal cost. They are the reason I refuse to give up hope in my country. #India

The electoral process has been hi-jacked. The voter list has been manipulated. The above-the-law Election Commission, has been handpicked to unashamedly and singularly serve Modi - Shah. Youth are on the streets. Many in prison. The time has come for us - We the People - to pour into the streets and say Stop the Attack on Our Democracy On October 14th Organisations of Student, Youth, Kisan, Workers, Women, Dalit, Adivasi, Minorities, Disabled, Transgender etc., met to form a broad alliance under the banner of People Against SIR. We have collectively called for a Peoples March on October 23rd to restore democracy and create Jantar Mantar’s all over the country. 𝑯𝒂𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒆 𝑻𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒂𝒓 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒊 𝒎𝒆 𝑱𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓 (In Every Hand the Tricolour and in Every Street a Jantar Mantar). On behalf of all the Organisations which are part of “People Against SIR”, We call upon People of this Country who see themselves as Patriots to rise to this Challenge. We can’t afford to wait any longer. Draw strength and take the initiative at your location. This is a Peoples Movement - we all need to be leaders of this movement. Create space for the youth. 𝗔𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆. We also call upon Political parties of INDIA bloc to join us and be part of the October 23rd Peoples March and give strength to Jantar Mantar protests all over the Country. • Gyanesh Must be Removed and Prosecuted • SIR Must be Scrapped and All Deleted Voters Must be Restored to the Voter Rolls. • Conspiratorial Amendment to the Election Commissioners Act 2023 should be Repealed. • A New Election Commission Appointed through an Unbiased Process - Just Revision of the Voter Rolls - Return to the Paper Ballot - Fair Elections through Election Reforms. • All Power to the People - Constitution will Prevail - Conspiracy will Fail.

Three cartoons which the Modi Sarkar didn't want to be seen by Indians on Instagram. (The first cartoon was blocked TWICE in three days, I presume, just to speed up the profile-blocking process) If you have Instagram account, please DON'T post these cartoons on Instagram, just to STOP more Indians from seeing them! #BlockSarkar
