Britain's biggest ever petition wasn't about Britain. 📜
1814. We'd just beaten Napoleon. The peace treaty gave France five more years of the slave trade. ⚓
Our own government had signed it. The country erupted. 🔥
One in every seventeen people signed. Children included. ✍️
Castlereagh took those names to Vienna. He could have asked for anything. He asked for an end to the slave trade. ⚖️
France never got its five years because of the British people. 🇫🇷 🫷🇬🇧
Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧
Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

The Handmaid’s Tale is fiction for you. For us, it’s real life.
In Poland, I spoke about the victims of Auschwitz and the people massacred by the Islamic Republic in Iran. History teaches us what happens when the world looks away. We must remember the victims, confront tyranny, and refuse to let another massacre be met with silence.

The benefits of electrification are so ordinary that we can forget how extraordinary they are. Many things change when a home gets electricity for the first time. A light switched on. Medicine kept cold. A phone charged.

ALT An area chart shows the percentage of the world's population with access to electricity increasing from 71.5% in 1990 to 91.9% in 2024, a rise of 20.4 percentage points. The steadily rising blue area illustrates more than three decades of progress, with approximately 300,000 people gaining access to electricity every day. By 2024, more than nine in ten people worldwide had electricity access, although 8.1% remained without it. Source: World Bank.

Tocqueville’s paradox: it is in the most equal societies that people find inequalities most intolerable.
Ouch, hilarious.
Um if you hadn’t majored in the humanities you’d know this is 2.5 percent @TheSpectator

Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday.
"The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews.
Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis.
Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.
Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews.
No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him.
The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway.
The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general.
I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

I just learned that he has no mother or father to speak up for him. And now the Islamic Republic wants to hang him.
His name is Ilya Ben Rashid.
He is a young Iranian protester He has a younger sister. Now he is facing a death sentence.
He was arrested during the January 2026 protests in Iran. A Revolutionary Court in Isfahan sentenced him to death on charges of “waging war against God” for allegedly damaging public property.
He is being held in Dastgerd Prison. Reports say he was denied a lawyer of his choice.
Imagine facing execution for demanding freedom.
We must become his voice. We must stop his execution.
Say his name. Save Ilya Ben Rashid.

Morocco’s First Female Prime Minister Has a Message: It’s Madam, Not Sir
During a parliamentary debate, Fatima Zahra Al-Mansouri corrected a female lawmaker who twice addressed her as “Mr. Prime Minister.”
“You’ll have to get used to it,” she replied, offering a lighthearted reminder that Morocco now has a woman leading its government for the first time.

Australia’s first Australian-born Governor-General was a Jewish Melburnian: Sir Isaac Isaacs
Born in 1855 to Jewish immigrant parents, Isaacs rose from modest beginnings to help shape the nation’s democratic & legal institutions
His contribution to Australia was remarkable:
• Federation: Represented Victoria at the 1897–98 Constitutional Convention & campaigned for the Constitution
• Parliament: Elected to Australia’s first federal Parliament in 1901 & later served as Commonwealth Attorney-General
• Law: Served almost 25 years on the High Court, becoming Chief Justice in 1930
• National leadership: Became Australia’s first Australian-born Governor-General in 1931, serving until 1936
During the Great Depression, he voluntarily gave up a quarter of his Governor-General’s salary & his High Court pension - a tangible expression of public service during national hardship
As a Jewish Australian, I take pride in his contribution to modern Australia
Sir Isaac Isaacs helped build Australia. His legacy deserves to be widely known & celebrated

Something people don't mention enough is that JK Rowling is a domestic violence survivor. She didn't have a victim mentality. She survived by writing the best-selling children's books of a generation. With that said, she's still a DV survivor, and she inherently understands coercive control and abuse dynamics, and she identifies them in the trans activist movement. It amazes me that she has exercised so much restraint in discussing the depths of the effects of her own witch-hunt in an age where few resist doing so, but she doesn't because she doesn't have a victim complex, and that is why they hate her so much.
