COPC.io support in @qgis is now released! Grab 3.26.0 to do things like render and interrogate this 9.7 billion point Montreal Island COPC file as a remote S3 object (see it on the web at viewer.copc.io/?copc=https:/…). QGIS is a keystone implementation of COPC.

🤔 Kyiv or Kiev? Kharkiv or Kharkov? Mykolaiv or Nikolaev? To make these kinds of decisions easier, I made a simple web app where you can quickly look up common Ukrainian names* and learn how to correctly write them in English: spellingukraine.com * mostly city names now

This article from @R_Graph_Gallery was exactly what I needed for class when discussing issues with pie charts this week, and it includes #rstats code to allow for reproduction/customization of the illustrations #dataviz data-to-viz.com/caveat/pie.h…

I find it hilarious that #SinglesAwarenessDay is the day after Valentines Day so here’s some maps of people in the US who have never been married in the year 2019. #rstudio #RStats #DataScience #dataviz #poptwitter

Participated in ISU's #CY5 virtual 5K this last week while listening to some Joan Jett I love rock'n roll, but also found this week that Greg Kihn Band - The Breakup Song has a great running beat! youtube.com/watch?v=vjWd_7Oz…
Please, please don’t paint your streets to encourage play! Implement improved crossings, wider sidewalks, bike lanes, parks, lower speeds etc. Just don’t paint them to encourage play as illustrated in the photos. Think about how kids perceive this when they enter an active road!
Several counties had more visits to grocery in mid March and then fell below baseline according to @Google 's COVID-19 Community Mobility Reports. Also note peak/valley trips to workplaces for all of Iowa google.com/covid19/mobility/ @ISUExtensionCED @ISUExtensionIP
What value is a map like this? 4 total breaks and one is not used. New York is nearly 3X the top range. Soon bottom two ranges could be empty. Per capita more appropriate? Don't get me started with alpha sort of state names in pull down. #covid19map #DataScience

Really liking this infographic today, but as a standalone graphic it would benefit from a title (beyond in Twitter comment) and clarification on the symbology - circles with holes vs those without, multi lens and does color have meaning. That said, it is just fun to look at!
Replying to @infobeautiful
Aha - I wondered what had happened to FAST, but it's on the link bit.ly/3cbz62z
