The equivalent of 890 RTX 5090s, 3,200 Ryzen CPUs and 1,000+ ASICs is securing the @tari network. The $XTM market cap? ~$9M 🐢
DNC took a snapshot of today's hashrate across Tari's mining lanes and priced up the hardware behind it:
· GPU lane: ~890 RTX 5090s, ~$3.4M
· CPU lane: ~3,200 Ryzen 9 CPUs, ~$1.6M
· ASIC lane: ~1,060 dedicated miners, ~$1.1M
That's ~$6M of dedicated hardware... and that's before $XMR miners, who also secure Tari through merge mining. To attack the chain, you'd need to overpower several lanes at once, @monero's included.
The Ootle launches 11.11 on a network that's already battle-ready. The market just hasn't priced it in yet.

What is Merge Mining?
What if miners could secure two blockchains with the same hash power, at no extra energy cost?
That's merge mining. A miner does proof of work for a "parent" chain like Monero, and that same work is also accepted by a second chain. Miners get paid on both. Nobody has to choose.
Why it matters:
⛏️ Free security for new chains. A small chain on its own is an easy 51% target. Merge mining lets it borrow hash power from a much bigger network.
💰 Better economics for miners. Same electricity, extra rewards. There's little reason for a pool to opt out.
🔒 Stronger together. Attackers can't just overpower the smaller chain without also contending with the larger one's mining base.
Tari takes this further. It runs four mining lanes: RandomX merge-mined with Monero, RandomX solo, Cuckaroo 29 for GPUs, and SHA-3 for ASICs. Each lane gets an equal share of blocks, so an attacker would need to control multiple algorithms at once.
When a recent Cuckaroo 29 bug made blocks easier to mine than intended, the other three lanes kept the network secure while it was fixed by hard fork.
Merge mining isn't new, but combining it with a multi-lane design is a different take on a very old problem: how does a young chain stay safe?
