There is something tragic about the last gulab jamun at a dinner party.
Everyone wants it, but nobody wants to be seen taking it. Etiquette, you know!
So it sits there, lonely, slowly absorbing syrup, while four otherwise sensible adults pretend not to be interested.
Sometimes, someone offers to split it. But sometimes, nobody does.
And four people go home regretting the gulab jamun that nobody ate.
Life is full of last gulab jamuns. Don’t leave them on the table.
