hadn't really hit me that some of the voters who just sent a Black man to the Senate from Mississippi remember having to pay poll taxes. American history is so short. Historic. So so so so so happy for them.

You ever think about how culturally influential the State of Mississippi is? So much of modern music today comes from people inspired by Black people in Mississippi. Specifically, the Mississippi Delta. Blues, Rock, Country, Jazz, it’s all from Mississippi.

MISSISSIPPI! Our race is too close to call. We are going to make sure every single vote has been counted, and I am confident we will ultimately flip this seat.
Voters know what’s at stake and we saw historic voter turnout in this election across Mississippi, including thousands voting for the first time.
