I started an essay series at @regenfoundation to unpack what it means when we peg economic value to ecological regeneration. The ethical and technical challenges are vibrant and complex. I’m releasing the first essay “Undualing” soon. Here’s a rant 🧵 to whet your palates. 1/8

Some notes for Joe Manchin:
1. DC Statehood does NOT require a constitutional amendment. Congress CAN grant 700,000 Americans a vote & fair representation.
2. You said you don't support #ForThePeopleAct as written, but you co-sponsored it in 2019. What gives @Sen_JoeManchin?
NEW: Joe Manchin has come out AGAINST the DC statehood bill, dealing a major blow in a 50-50 Senate.

It took nearly 3 weeks for the National Capital Region to go from 0 to 1,000 cases of COVID-19. It took 3 days for the region to go from 1,000 to 2,000 cases in DC, MD, and VA. This is a rapidly evolving and escalating emergency which is now surrounding the nation’s capital.

Like the sheet, it's a work in progress—anything you'd like to see, give me a shout.

The lack of testing should be a career ending mistake. I’ve never seen Dow futures plummet like that when a President speaks. People need testing, social distancing, beds, respirators, good advice, food, paid leave, oxygen tanks, and scientific integrity, not a payroll tax cut.
