❌ Not everyone’s meibomian glands release visible, thick oil. If nothing comes out, it doesn’t mean you need to squeeze harder!
🧬 Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) can cause thickened secretions, reduced oil production, or gland loss. And remember, dry eye can have other causes, too.
⚠️ Never forcefully squeeze your eyelids or use tweezers! You risk injuring the eyelid and ocular surface.
✅ Safer tip: Apply a comfortably warm compress to closed eyelids. If dryness or irritation persists, see an ophthalmologist.
