After a rumor spread that Ethiopian Christians were organizing, jihadist militias went house to house in Christian neighborhoods, Oct 7th style, murdering entire families. After six hours, 48 men, women and children lay dead in different towns. The Oromia majority area of Ethiopia in the south is similar to Central Nigeria, where the religious demographics are split almost evenly between Muslim and Christians (both traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo and modern evangelical churches).
Full story here: addisstandard.com/at-least-4…
Ethiopia: At least 47 Ethiopian Christians were killed, and another 18 hospitalized, in coordinated attacks targeting them in the Oromia region.
Surviving witnesses claimed regional authorities collaborated with Islamist militias to carry out the massacre.
Church leaders have repeatedly warned local authorities about armed groups entering the area, but received no serious response.
This is not an isolated incident, but rather part of a pattern of targeted attacks against Ethiopian Christians, who militants conflate with Amhara ethnicity.
This fusion of religious and ethnic violence against innocent Christians and their churches must not be tolerated.
We condemn these evil acts and call for the protection of Ethiopia’s Christians.

.@gabeondrums gives us an update from Italy on an interesting find in an old castle.
I hope they batten down the hatches. There’s too much there to lose.
Islam is like Scar’s shadow country: “We don’t go there, Simba.” It absolutely erodes and destroys life, just like Scar did once he stole the Kingdom.
Anyway it’s very sad to see France fall. The culture, the history, the beauty, the food. With Macron making excuses, I’m not sure this is something a country comes back from.

Join Gabe for a behind-the-scenes look at how resources are prepared for THE EMMAUS TABLE.
I was so busy reflecting on Oct 7th that I missed this gem so audaciously published on Oct 8th. One of the Top 3 most asinine things I’ve ever ever ever read:
After the military occupation of East Jerusalem began in 1967, Israel removed the Dead Sea Scrolls from the territory. The Israel Antiquities Authority has those stolen artifacts in its possession. By involving the authority in a new research project on the Dead Sea Scrolls, the EU is enabling the theft of Palestine's heritage.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in caves in the Judean Desert, between 1947 and 1956.
The scrolls are written in Hebrew and include the oldest known copies of many books of the Hebrew Bible and other ancient Jewish religious texts.

Sometime in 2027/2028, we’re @TheEmmausTable are gonna visit the Emerald Isle and mop this mess up. Pray for the church in Ireland (Northern & the Republic) - there are yet plenty of people there with clarity.

You all are so worried about Jews, that you are just straight letting Islam come after Christians.
Islam literally says out loud they want to convert every Christian to Islam.
Islam is the one killing/beheading Christian.
Islam is the one going into Christian countries to fund more Islamic center projects/mosques.

Dr. Zvi Sheleg from Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya updates on the status on the wounded children following the blast in northern Israel
Stephanie Quick retweeted
The ordnance that exploded on schoolchildren hiking in the Ramim Ridge area in northern Israel is believed by the military to be a submunition from a Hezbollah rocket.
During the war in recent years, Hezbollah launched several Grad rockets containing dozens of BRB1-type submunitions at northern Israel. The rockets spread the submunitions over wide areas, and often do not explode on impact.
One of the schoolchildren is believed to have picked up a submunition during a hike along the Naftali Mountains Forest scenic route and put it in his backpack. Several minutes later, the submunition exploded, according to a preliminary probe by authorities.
The blast killed a teenager and wounded 19 others, including two in serious condition and three in moderate condition.
Hezbollah’s been firing cluster rockets to bypass the Iron Dome, and 10% land scattered throughout northern Israel. A bunch of high schoolers took a field trip on the national trail up here and one of them found a dud and, being a kid, stuck it in his backpack. Soon as it started jostling, it went off. His parents will bury their child by this time tomorrow. Nearly two dozen others are wounded, many seriously.
It takes time to get first responders up in that trail system, right under Hezbollah’s old shadow. They were first treated by a guy who’s held the fort in his village on the border (we spent Independence Day with him and his unit in 2024). He’s been on TV several times through the war to help the country understand what the north is facing. Today was the first day we saw him cry.
There are, without a doubt, more of these duds lying in wait. Shards of a war that doesn’t seem to end.
Wonder what @RobertKennedyJr would say about this is Qatar didn’t have its hand over his mouth

“We are three years deep into a historic opportunity—more than that, a historic sifting—to be a brother to the Jewish people, a proverbial brother 'born for trouble,' or born for war. We had an opportunity to say, 'Hey, you want to get to them? You’ve gotta go through me first.' And we did not. We have not.”

October 7th was a rail switch in human history as we barrel towards the Day of the LORD.
It was also a sifting test, which nearly 2,000 years of Christian history set the Church up to fail.
@quicklikesand on where we went wrong, what we must correct, and how to move forward:
