.@metrolaalerts @metrolosangeles I was just almost killed by the operator of bus 8813 (short line 4) at Sunset and Marion. Please get in touch and let me know where I can discuss further.
Is an unwavering commitment to human rights why your dad just put a Bush staffer on the editorial board?
There is a lot of controversy and confusion over the LAT’s decision not to endorse a presidential candidate. I trust the Editorial Board’s judgment. For me, genocide is the line in the sand.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim that the Los Angeles Times not endorsing was a decision by the Editorial Board is false. In reality, the Board had decided to endorse Vice President Harris, but Patrick Soon-Shiong, the paper's owner and poster's father, overruled them.

@metrolaalerts Just got kicked off the Azusa A at Union because the train is turning back to Long Beach (ridiculously common occurrence). No trains are tracking. What is going on??

@metrolaalerts What is happening with the B line right now? PA said power outages in Hollywood but I can't figure out if I'll be able to get out of NoHo tonight
No one who rides Metro would write this. Fare beaters use the emergency gates or the ADA fare gates, which can be easily walked through. Jumping over the turnstiles is extremely rare in my experience.

Who's heading to Miami next week for the @NACTO Designing Cities conference? I'd love to see folks while I'm there.
The American health insurance system is truly evil and I don't know how anyone at @Cigna or elsewhere sleeps at night.
Hey #bikedc friends, is the Capital @bikeshare system always terribly balanced or am I just having bad luck?
Thank you @metrolosangeles for finally adding a 182 stop at Rowena and Glendale. Many people just got on the bus there, including sometime with two bags of Trader Joe's groceries. Now please improve the incredibly infrequent service!
The only kind of YIMBYism I'm interested in recognizes that we need government intervention to make great places. Libertarian market urbanism is a fantasy.

Overgrown lifestyle centers for rich white people with some of the aesthetics of urban life but none of the substance. None of the positive social and agglomerative effects. – at St Louis, MO

There's absolutely no room in the urbanist movement for conservatives.
The fight for equitable, climate conscious cities, worker's rights, reproductive rights, racial justice, wealth equality, and LGBTQ rights are all the same fight.

Israeli police are beating Palestinian worshipers at Al Aqsa in Jerusalem at the start of Ramadan. It’s nothing new, this is a video of them beating worshipers inside the mosque last April. This is why they don’t want to talk about anything before Oct 7.

Ban police chases, exhibit one million
Deadly police chases are killing record numbers of Americans. The vast majority of people killed are suspected of only a minor crime, or no crime at all.
