Damning @DavidLloydRADIO
As BBC local radio proposes yet more change despite ample budget in decent hands - is the game all over? How has it come to this? Who's responsible? I've tried to pull it together

He’s right you know
I’d like to create some jobs, please, but first I need permission from Brian Cox and the local amphibians thetimes.com/comment/columni…
This is so obviously wrong I’m amazed R4 tweeted it. 20 years and 8 films is the correct number - and 2 years longer than Daniel Craig played Bond.
Dame Judi Dench played ‘M’ in James Bond for eight years – longer than any actor has played Bond himself.
She tells @emmabarnett about being invited to lunch with the real-life head of MI6.
I have seen absolutely nothing in the two years of this government that makes me think they know, understand or even care about entrepreneurialism - and I can’t imagine anything on Wednesday will surprise me.
BREAKING
The Treasury’s entrepreneurship adviser has announced she is quitting.
Alex Depledge tells my colleague @hannahprevett start-ups are treated as a “sideshow” and a “nice to have”.
“Entrepreneurship can’t be seen as a good news bonus on the margins of economic policy. That mentality is really dangerous for British business as a whole…”
Depledge due to leave her role on Thursday, the day after the Budget.

I’m enjoying “War” on Sky, but did check on Google Gemini the legitimacy of 1) the honey trap, 2) the mole, & 3) the asset shifting.
Gemini said all three were completely bonkers and than no reputable law firm would ever do them. Which is what I thought.
Still good popcorn though
It was painful to watch this. He is clearly a very personable man, was a great footballer, and has the teams best interests at heart. Whether that makes him an elite manager is a moot point - he’s in an invidious position and all true reds will feel for him this weekend.
This is from the heart. Anyone who knows Michael Carrick or has followed his career knows that. He’s always been about the team, not about himself. He cares deeply about Manchester United. #MUFC

I might have to stop watching United. Not sure I can take much more like this!
A week on from their shocking start against Atletico, #MUFC have done it again. Two mins in and Nico Paz scores
This is my earliest memory of a “news story” and it was of kids my age and my friends age being lost in such a terrible tragedy. 60 years can’t dim the pain their surviving friends and relatives must feel
I see R4X is closing its broadcast platform. Presumably some staff savings - but what about the slot on the multiplex? As we said in our submission to OFCOM there are commercial operators like us who would willingly pay the BBC rent to be on there. I doubt it’ll ever happen
How is this possible?

Across 175 countries, more meat consumption goes with longer life.
Decades of being told to fear steak, but population data points the other way.
Eat meat.
I do worry that online ad placement algorithms are defrauding clients. My X timeline is full of ads for teeth whitening gels which I will never buy, women’s back support bras (ditto) and fit AI men doing walking t’ai chi or military calisthenics ( again I’ll never buy)!
