Didn’t make photography a habit in 2022, but made some good images during a few trips to the Eastern Sierra. Quality over quantity?

I did manage to rebuild and relaunch @seriesphotosapp this year. Used it to curate that set! It’s a unique joy to create with tools you made.

One of these is close to home, the other is very much not. It's a good reminder to appreciate what is near and to reach for new experiences.

Huge update for Series. An important step in building long term value in the tool.
Now Available: Series Templates. Save and reuse your layouts. Consistent posts were never easier. Templates capture every aspect of your layout: frame, color, spacing, margin, and edge. Make it yours, then apply to any number of photos. 📸@danrubin / #madewithseries

A little insight into the oft-hidden corners of product design. Love that @rcarver is starting to share bits of the process behind @seriesphotosapp on Medium (below) as well as on IGTV/Twitter.

I love it when an idea comes out better than you thought.

Here’s a bit of the first thing shipping from that work. I’m dreaming in rectangles now.

Really excited about this new release! Shape your story faster with new One-Tap Layouts. Fluidly switch between them with any number of photos, then make it your own with fine-grained controls.

One year ago today I posted this pairing to Instagram. A month later I started learning iOS and working on what would become Series. So happy for how far it's come and excited for what's next!

This release was a ton of work, but also a lot of fun. Finally got the UI to a place that feels good and ready to grow.
Release 1.5 is now available! The controls have been completely redesigned and rebuilt, bringing the lovely Ringside font from @HoeflerCo into the UI for a more refined yet playful feel.
Oh thanks @DenseDiscovery! Love this newsletter and @offscreenmag.

Creating a product means understanding your role in the world. I’m still figuring that out but here’s today’s thought.
I believe that staying positive and creative is important. My family is well and adjusting to life at home. I’ve been working on the app a ton. I love doing it, and it’s way to keep things normal.

Love putting together these case studies for @seriesphotosapp. This one features @danrubin shooting @kristinamariee on @lomography film.
Watch @danrubin use Series to quickly crop and add borders for @instagram (1/3)

Plus as an app developer, editing UI footage frame by frame is a great way to QA the details.
