On Monday, Bramble the Barred Owl returned to the Central Park Ramble after spending several weeks somewhere outside the park. Bramble became a star in September by hunting well before sunset and giving amazing views, and did so again yesterday. 🦉 🧡

Some bird paintings from back in 2015. Back then, I was terrified to do a painting without words on. If you'd spent as many years as I had failing to get anywhere with your art until you used words, you'd see why! But I felt these birds spoke for themselves.

After spending some time shooting some sheds and boats at Cox's Cove we headed to this beautiful waterfall. Two waterfalls for the price of one! I settled on this scene with some rocks leading into the distance as the water ran around them creating some nice streaks. There were breaks in the clouds so I waited until the sun peaked through just enough to give a little light. I did shoot this waterfall last year, but I think I prefer this years shot. It's always nice to revisit locations to see if you can improve on the composition.

A fall scene on a light foggy day. The colours were really standing out in the Misty conditions. I liked how the light fog softened the scene without hiding the details. The reflection was an added bonus!

It's never too late after the sun is long gone, to still get a decent shot. You just have to have your eyes wide open and not trip.

@CIA at the top, natch. We can lie our way out of any porcupine den.

The old bridge at Piper’s Hole, Newfoundland. I photographed this a few years ago, when the trail was covered in leaves and the trees were showing off their colours. The old bridge has seen better days, but I think that’s part of what makes it interesting. It’s a simple spot, but the fall colours really bring it to life.
