Funny, several items on this list explain why republicEn exists. We oppose bigger government, mandates, hypocrisy, and giving China a free pass. None of those complaints disproves climate science. They make the case for a conservative solution.

Last week's must-read: Democrats, don’t kill this win for U.S. energy washingtonpost.com/opinions/… The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (BAAJA), the draft permitting reform bill released by the principal Senators (Whitehouse, Capito, Lee, and Heinrich) last week, is garnering lots of attention from praise to criticism. And understandbly so. If passed the BAAJA "would constitute the most important reform to the American energy sector in generations." Take it from people who have been there: making laws is hard; the process requires compromise from all the parties involved. As Chelsea's old boss, Senator John Warner once said in a meeting of stakeholders who weren't happy with all the elements of his climate bill: "This is how the sausage gets made." Given what the reactions to BAAJA we're reading and hearing, we thought this Washington Post editorial summed up the feeling: "The package is enormous in scope and full of good ideas to boost every variety of energy development. That’s crucial, given the soaring demand for new electricity to power the artificial intelligence boom. It’s also necessary to power all the projects that environmentalists say they support to combat climate change, such as shifting toward electric vehicles and electrifying home heating."
