It's funny that God's first recorded commandment to a human is the same thing we have to yell at infants.

Supreme Officers of the Knights of Columbus and more than 200 Fourth Degree Knights from several jurisdictions marched in the 82nd annual Columbus Day parade in Manhattan today. Before the parade, Knights attended Mass celebrated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop emeritus of New York, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Halloween is Catholic.
It’s All Hallows’ Eve, the evening before we celebrate All Saints’ Day and remember the faithful departed.
In England, Christians would go door to door asking for treats. They offered to pray for the departed souls of the families who welcomed them. Over time, this tradition developed into what we now know as trick-or-treating.
Catholics don’t need to run from Halloween.
Dress your children up.
Go trick-or-treating.
Have a bonfire.
Eat candy.
Celebrate.
And then remember what the night is pointing toward:
The saints.
The holy souls.
And ultimately, Christ.
Halloween doesn’t belong to the devil.
It belongs to Jesus and His Church.
