DOB Commissioner @AhmedTigani54 sat down with @ABC7NY to talk about what the city is doing to reform existing building facade inspection regulations, and remove more sidewalk sheds around the city.
Thank you to @DanKrauthABC7 and the team for highlighting this important issue.

We also want to expand NYC Kids RISE to provide an initial investment of up to $1,000 for every public-school kindergartener and up to $3,000 for children with the greatest need.
Investment in higher education and post-high school trade schools is one of the best ways to address income inequality, and data shows that college graduates earn on average more than double the salaries of those who stop their education after high school.

Today, the Council released our response to the Mayor’s preliminary budget proposal.
We've proposed closing a $6 billion budget shortfall responsibly, without any cuts to services or staff, while investing in programs that make life more affordable. To be clear, this is just the beginning.

NEW: Julie Menin, a liberal moderate from the Upper East Side, has locked up the votes to become Speaker of the New York City Council. How did she get them?
And will she be a "check" on Mayor Mamdani? Or a partner in his affordability agenda?

Genuinely, why haven’t we heard of this? Back in 2022 when I left city hall, I sincerely thought MOPT was gone. MOPT’s goal was always to proactively and publicly advocate for tenants. If this office still operates (great!), then why haven’t we heard from it? What’s the agenda?
