My great uncle was murdered by the Bolsheviks when he was studying at St. Petersburg University. He had two strikes against him. He was a devout Christian from a foreign country and anti Communist. He refused to accept their ideology and was brutally beaten to death.

Useful idiots Kilmeade and Saad Part II. DuBois and Foner would be proud. Don't tell me most MAGA people don't hate the South.
As @TheAmRev pointed out, look at Saad nodding along agreeing at the end and he does not know shit!

New piece: who actually makes your running shoes?
I went through the filings of every major brand. Two still own their factories. The rest rent from the same small pool of contractors, often with no commitment past the current order.

That conflict had nothing to do with you. Your ancestors were making wine for Victor Emmanuel II. By the way, no one was driven from the field, genius. Just shut up, foreigner.

"They don't make 'em like they used to."
Often quipped, rarely examined.
It is true, they don't. And what's shocking is how often the decision to sacrifice quality is taken consciously.
Check the tag on whatever you're wearing. Good chance the company that built the original is gone and the name's just a rental now, stitched onto whatever's cheapest.
I've started telling the stories behind the brand acquisitions, what they cut, and what you got stuck with.
10 so far, tracing how consolidation quietly hollowed out restaurants, apparel, appliances, tools and more.

"Without a coherent national story, we will fail to be a coherent nation" is a true statement. But this is a case of some of the arsonists wondering who started the fire that is burning down our house around us.
Unable to agree on how to interpret American history, schools, universities, and political institutions have stopped trying to interpret it at all, @YAppelbaum writes. But “without a coherent national story, we will fail to be a coherent nation.” theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

They're all saying "Oh dear, I'm suffering from black fatigue".
Really? You're fatigued? So sorry to hear that. Now, how about an apology to the South for terrorizing them about being "racists" for all these decades?

"The South is morally superior. It always has been and, looks like, likely will be ... In the future, the South will remain the moral master, because the ultimate defense of American and Western Civilization will be soldiered by stalwart Southerners more than anyone else."

These people used to torment me on here every time I posted about black Confederates. I'm older and wiser now, I understand the game they're playing, so I decided to leave a fresh reply today even though this nasty post was from Memorial Day last year.

Since you've raised historical markers to show where whites lynched blacks, you must also put historical markers to show where blacks attacked whites.
Why not put Hate Markers and Violence Markers all across America? Sounds like a healthy thing to do to create racial harmony.

I visited the Lion of Atlanta (the grave marker under which nearly 7,000 Southern soldiers were buried) in early 2021 when it was shrouded in a tarp, after it had been defaced but before it was razed. I wrote about my experience & the subsequent removal.

Morons are seldom deterred by logic, fact, and that sort of thing. So we're not surprised you will not be deterred. We would be surprised, frankly, if you were open to having your indoctrination disassembled.

It seems a lot of people haven’t accepted that we are likely down to two options with Iran:
-a long, costly ground war
or
-a peace deal with a lot of crappy stuff in it
Probably something that should have been considered BEFORE setting off. But here we are.

The defense of our heritage is failing miserably, tangled in the web of political gamesmanship. It all began with activists stirring the pot, cherry-picking quotes to paint Southerners as inherently racist. Republicans, sensing an opportunity, took the bait and flipped the script, branding the entire Democratic Party as the "party of slavery." But let's stick to the facts: George Washington owned more slaves than most Democrats in 1860, and the Whig Party in the South was home to many of the era's leading slaveholders. What started as a debate over history has devolved into a partisan slugfest, where truth is the first casualty.
In response, those who know better often resort to ad hominem tactics—trying to sniff out if the critic is a foreigner, a Jew, or someone born outside the South. This is counterproductive. After all, there are foreigners, Jews, and non-Southerners who genuinely care about preservation. Alienating potential allies only weakens the cause.
Our approach to stupidity must be rooted in education, adherence to facts, and building a foundation on truth. America has imported thousands of immigrants who came to adore its history and culture because the nation as a whole once embraced it with pride. Take Irving Berlin, a Jewish immigrant, who penned timeless songs celebrating Southern themes. These examples show that appreciation for heritage transcends origins.
We need to be smarter about this. The goal isn't to tear down Abraham Lincoln—millions of Southerners revered him, just as millions of Northerners admired Robert E. Lee. Instead, it's to foster a deeper understanding of history and recognize that respecting our past is a cornerstone for a united country, one that rises above political divides. Only by committing to truth can we preserve what matters and build bridges where walls now stand.
