Sure seems like Trump is dissociating. Call it sundowning if you like, but he's become detached and stoic.
His "nothing matters" philosophy has sublimated into long discussions of plumbing and premium marble — retreating into the building trade because it is the one thing he always believed he was good at, and which no one is trying to take away from him now.
A pathetic old man who reminds us "he's still our president," but we've all simply moved on out of disgust and boredom. The show is no longer worth watching and even the writers have lost interest.

המשך כהונה שלו זה מתכון לאסון בזירה האמריקאית, במיוחד אחרי הניסיון המחפיר שלו לבטל את תוצאות הבחירות בישראל ולגייס למשימה המלוכלכת הזו את ראש השב"כ זיני. חשוב לזכור, אין לישראל תחליף לארצות-הברית בזירה הבינלאומית, פשוט אין. וכיום בארה"ב, המותג נתניהו הוא מותג רע מאד, שגורם נזק מסוכן לישראל.
הערה לגבי המשא ומתן הקואליציוני: נתניהו מבטיח לשותפים שלו לצאת לבחירות נוספות ולהביא בהן 61 מנדטים. זו הבטחה שקרית. גם אם הוא יביא 61 מנדטים בבחירות חוזרות (אני בספק אם זה יכול לקרות), נתניהו לא יוכל להקים שוב ממשלה עם בן-גביר, אלא אם הוא רוצה להביא סנקציות משתקות על מדינת ישראל. גם סמוטריץ והמפלגות החרדיות צריכים להבין את זה. ממשלת בן-גביר 2.0 לא תקום, אלא אם רוצים שמדינת ישראל פשוט תתאבד.
אם ישראל רוצה להתחיל לשקם את מעמדה הגרוע מאד בארה"ב, היא חייבת להיפרד מנתניהו. זה לא יפתור את כל הבעיות שלנו בזירה האמריקאית, אפילו לא חצי מהן. אבל זה צעד ראשון והכרחי, שבלעדיו הדברים הולכים להידרדר למקומות מסוכנים מאד.

I’d temper the hope to this: any attempt to jam a bad deal down the throats of Ukrainians just got harder. Some sanctions can be waived but lifting them requires legislative approval, linked to a peace deal Kyiv finds agreeable. Oversight also matters and can indirectly help the Europeans block dodgy self-enrichment schemes masquerading as diplomacy. Confirmation hearings could stop another Gabbard or Hegseth from being appointed. I do not see pre-Trump support returning, however, although allocations in the NDAA ($800 million now) might increase. More broadly, Russia invested a lot in MAGA (Dmitriev was QAnon-posting not so long ago) and MAGA is now a zombie corpse. If pro-Ukraine Republicans reckon with the end of that movement and start planning for political life after it, they can manoeuvre a bit more freely and even in concert with Democrats on this issue.
