The govt's Student Loan Plan 2 repayment freeze in April 2027 must be reversed. It isn't moral.
I'm concerned that my debate with Kemi Badenoch this morning distracts from the most immediate problem. In April 2027 Rachel Reeves will freeze the Plan 2 student loan threshold until 2030 which by then will increase graduate repayments by £300/yr more.
This is effectively a unilateral negative breach of the student loan contract. Students were told the threshold would rise with average earnings. No commercial lender would be allowed to do this. The govt shouldn't do it either.
Changing the terms of future students loans is a political decision - people may not like it but it is transparent. Negatively changing the terms of contracts already signed, and long in place, is a breach of natural justice.

I am pleased to see @RupertLowe10 has installed solar panels on his farm.
It’s a shame @ReformParty_uk does not want ordinary people to benefit from cheap, clean, renewable energy.

Laura Kuenssberg reads out a question from a parent asking Amanda Spielman, the head of Ofsted, how many years teaching experience she has.
Spielman avoids answering. Presumably because she's never been a teacher and comes from a financial services background. #BBCLauraK

Live in Wells & Mendip Hills constituency? To get the Conservatives out you need to vote Lib Dem. If you would otherwise vote Labour don’t worry, next door in North East Somerset & Hanham we are asking Lib Dems to vote Labour to ensure removing Rees-Mogg. Let’s help each other.

Never forget the Premier League in this.
Wanted to deduct 17 points from Everton, cost the club a further £9.3m in prize money and now a club a billion quid in debt can come along, free from sanction, and offer mega money for our brightest talent.
Totally unfair.

Liv Garfield CEO of @stwater has been paid £27,700,000 over the last 10 years.
Can anyone please explain to me how the hell that is justified?

The trip back from the event, which was supposed to be about him meeting "ordinary voters", would have taken less than two and a half hours by train.

I just signed the petition demanding Liz Truss's honours list is scrapped. 49 days of chaos in office doesn't justify her promoting her friends to a lifetime seat in the Lords. Will you sign too? 250k and counting.... you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio… via @38degrees
