I genuinely believe that if humanity is to survive, let alone thrive, our greatest opportunity to reshape the world lies in this very moment. Someone mentioned the phrase "comfortably numb" the other day, in relation to how we live our lives. It got me thinking about the Pink Floyd song, and how we become so accustomed to things being wrong that we gradually lose the impulse to change them. And isn't that precisely what we've done collectively? For decades, we've become comfortably numb to inequality, austerity, environmental destruction and the erosion of our collective power. Wars waged, millions of lives lost, public services stripped back, climate action endlessly delayed or diluted. And through it all, we've largely carried on. Not because we're happy, but because we've convinced ourselves this is simply how the world works. But something feels different now. The veil is coming off. The political corruption, the extraordinary concentration of wealth and power, the brazen pursuit of private profit at the expense of people and planet. Wars, atrocities and genocide met with political obstruction and totalitarian tactics deployed to evade accountability. Crisis after crisis, each demanding sacrifice from ordinary people while becoming another opportunity for those at the top to accumulate wealth and power. And alongside it, the resurgence of fascism and far-right politics, telling us our problems are caused by migrants, minorities and the most vulnerable, rather than questioning those profiting exponentially from the status quo. But I see hope in this awakening. In Ukrainians fighting for their future, Palestinians refusing to surrender their humanity, and people across the world enduring unimaginable suffering yet refusing to give up hope. And in the streets of Paris, Albania, Brazil, and America, where people are standing up, demanding change and refusing to accept the world as it is. But perhaps most powerfully, in the millions across the world marching, shouting and screaming for the lives of others. People they've never met, in countries they've never visited, whose suffering they refuse to ignore. People refusing to look away. Refusing to be silent. Refusing to accept that another human life matters any less because it was born on the other side of a border. Different countries. Different struggles. But something profoundly human connects them all. And that's what gives me hope. Beneath the anger, grief and outrage, I see something far more powerful. People rediscovering their shared humanity, recognising that the suffering of others is not separate from their own, and beginning to understand the extraordinary collective power we hold. But awakening alone isn't enough. If humanity is to survive, we can't keep waiting for the very political and economic systems that brought us here to somehow rescue us. We have to connect across borders, organise, imagine and build. Stop treating politics as the limit of what's possible and start creating the momentum that forces it to respond. The greatest opportunity in this moment is that we're finally beginning to feel again. Byt the greatest tragedy would be to see the world for what it is, recognise that we have the collective power to change it, and to still do nothing. We can't afford to be comfortably numb any longer. It's time to stop simply resisting the world we don't want, and start building the world we know is possible. ✊️🌏🌱✨️ #Groundswell

“Why is an environmental charity getting involved in politics?” Because climate change is shaped by political decisions, from energy policies to environmental regulations. You can’t stay out of politics when politics determines the future of the planet you’re trying to protect. Ignore politics long enough, and you’ll eventually feel its consequences.

"My daughter caught measles when she was seven. I remember not feeling particularly alarmed about it. Then one morning she said, 'I feel all sleepy,' and she went into a coma. In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead." Roald Dahl on his daughter Olivia
Don’t fall for the fear campaign...what is MEASLES?...a fever, a cough, a rash, runny eyes & runny nose. -Dr. Sherri Tenpenny "The measles vaccine came out in 1963. In 1962, the death rate from measles was two in a million.” "So it was not even deadly BEFORE we had a vaccine." IF YOU FEAR MEASLES... You must not know that even in the 60s, before the vaccine, the survival rate was over 99.9%. You must not know that the MMR is a live virus vaccine & can cause measles. You must not know that the MMR vaccine is linked to 2,657% MORE DEATHS than measles since 1995. You must not know that it's a very mild childhood illness for well-nourished children. You must not know that natural measles infection provides lifelong immunity, unlike the vaccine. You must not know that there are huge lifelong health benefits to getting measles, including a lower risk of cancer, lower risk of heart disease & stronger immune resilience. You must not know that the MMR insert lists over 60 serious adverse events, ranging from encephalitis, seizures & death. You must not know that studies show Vitamin A drastically reduces measles complications-yet public health officials ignore it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Pre-vaccine US: ~400-500 measles deaths, 48k hospitalizations, 1k encephalitis/yr (~2/M). Vaccine cut >99%. 2657% uses unverified VAERS (not causal) vs rare measles deaths. MMR rarely mild symptoms. Benefit claims weak; measles causes immune amnesia. cdc.gov/measles/about/… ourworldindata.org/grapher/measle…

It would be cool if billionaires started competing over who could plant the most trees, build the most hospitals, libraries, & parks, house the most homeless ppl, restore the most ecosystems, and remove the most pollution from Earth, all just to show off.

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers. “Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

What an extraordinary night for democracy! In Brazil, Lula has defeated the far right in a dramatic electoral comeback. In Serbia, a student-led movement has toppled Vučić’s authoritarian government after nearly two years of protests. Two countries, thousands of miles apart, have delivered enormous blows to the nationalist right. A powerful reminder of what ordinary people can achieve when they organise and refuse to give up. Next up, it’s America’s turn.

1/ 🇷🇸🇷🇺 Vučić just lost Serbia. russia’s most useful Balkan ally called a snap election to cling to power. Students who spent 2 yrs in the streets crushed him. Moscow spent a decade buying influence with cheap gas & political cover. Europe didn't oust him. Serbians did.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

Zia Yusef – an unelected pretend politician who manipulates everything he touches to maximise misinformation, division and hatred. Check out: - Farage’s Brexit opened the floodgates - FoM has clear rules - Inc leaving after 3 months if no job - FOM is great value to UK citizens
🚨 Andy Burnham has said he is open to taking Britain BACK into freedom of movement with the EU. That means 450 million people will be able to move to the UK, with no powers to stop them. Plus anyone in the world who can get their hands on citizenship of ANY EU country. Burnham is determined to open the floodgates and overwhelm Britain. He MUST be voted out!

Big Tech are out of control. Finland - Don’t just fine them. Money isn’t a barrier. This vandalism needs handling toughly. Pull the complete planning from them and take the top directors to court. Until the world takes a tough line they’ll continue to do whatever they like
Google did this to build a data center in Finland. It was illegal, but they did it anyway. Big Tech is out of control.

The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared. Because like ALL things, if the punishment is a fine, it isn’t really illegal for rich people.
