TALLADEGA NIGHTS (2006) has Ricky Bobby screaming “I am SO paralyzed!” before stabbing himself in the leg to prove it. Will Ferrell’s hospital meltdown is comedy gold. 😂
What’s a movie scene that made you laugh so hard your stomach hurt and you genuinely struggled to catch your breath? The kind of scene where even thinking about it years later still makes you laugh.

People said exactly this same thing when the Royals won.
You have to wonder if this World Series is going to bring upon a reimagining of roster building in MLB. Speed. Defense. Situational execution. The value of a single run. Been an awfully fun product to watch these first two games.

This is cinema, man. This is what is all about.
"Wildwood" took nearly 15 years to make, with 231 puppets and 136 sets, making it the longest stop motion film ever made.

there are few things more dangerous than a person who mistakes their music taste for a personality. mention the wrong band at dinner and suddenly you're not discussing music anymore; you're attending a courtroom drama where nostalgia is the prosecution, the playlist is the evidence, and somebody's dignity is about to be cross-examined. the brilliance of this sketch is how quickly a perfectly ordinary conversation about weezer becomes a full-scale identity crisis. people don't just love their favourite bands. sometimes they use them as tiny cultural kingdoms, complete with borders, enemies and an imaginary national anthem. disagree with the music and somehow you've insulted the entire population.

Adam Driver walking into Career Day looking like an ancient, decrepit oil baron, only to have Pete Davidson casually reveal that this man was once bedridden for a full week just because the mattress was too soft is comedy gold. The whole room was terrified of him as he rambled about crushing enemies into dirt, and his kid was just sitting there completely unfazed, dropping the most humiliating domestic facts possible. Pete having to hold back laughter while Driver committed 1000% without blinking made the sketch legendary. Nobody does deadpan intensity quite like him.
SNL’s “Green Eggs & Ham” takes a children’s-book premise and builds a sketch around a very adult frustration: someone keeps pushing after receiving a clear “no.” Andrew Dismukes plays Sam-I-Am, while Mikey Day’s character repeatedly refuses the meal. Shane Gillis enters as the son who has finally had enough. The escalation is simple, but it gives the scene a clear comic pressure point.

Will Ferrell trying to break Danny McBride & Craig Robinson during an EASTBOUND & DOWN blooper reel is gold. Watching the two of them fight for their lives to keep a straight face while Ferrell keeps pushing is almost funnier than the actual scene.

In a shocking development which anyone with the IQ of a rather slow gerbil could have predicted, a decent amount of cash has been immolated in the course of not finding Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra where the conspiracy theorists thought it was. The idiot naïfs who thought they failed to find a tiny island rising 20 feet above the ocean, and consequently ran out of fuel, ditched and sank, have won this one./1 reuters.com/lifestyle/search…

really? what a narrow view! Anderson did in fact write sympathetically & convincingly about girls & women; even Hemingway has a story from an adolescent girl's perspective, "Up in Michigan," that is a knockout; not to mention D.H. Lawrence, Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Hardy & (not least) Shakespeare. if men can't write about women, women presumably can't write about men. educated people can't write about lesser-educated people, Black writers can't write about brown people, people from Maine can't write about people from Vermont, no one can write about anyone except the sickly face in the mirror.

This is some of the best writing about modern baseball thinking out there. No bullshit you just don’t see people who can write stuff like this.
A reminder about Tampa's offense as we get this series started and the broadcast starts laying it on thick with the clichés:
