On August 18, MAGA Republican Mike Caruso was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and charged with five felony counts, including kidnapping, lewd or lascivious molestation, lewd or lascivious exhibition, luring or enticing a child, and child abuse causing mental injury involving a young relative—his grandson— under the age of 12.
Immediately following the arrest, Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Caruso from his position as Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller, appointing Shannon Ramsey-Chessman as interim clerk.
Caruso was released from the Orange County Jail on August 28, 2026, after posting a $160,000 bond, a decision state prosecutors subsequently appealed to an appellate court.
Caruso has pleaded not guilty, maintains his innocence, and has refused to withdraw from his campaign against Democrat Yvette Drucker.
There are Mike Caruso signs next to Byron Donalds, Scott Singer—whose own racist signs are vile in their own right— and Ashley Moody signs at a Boca Raton library today.
If that’s not a sign to vote for @TheDemocrats up and down the ballot, I don’t know what is.
