We’re back to court today to stop the Higgs government from removing the Charter Rights of 2% of New Brunswick students. A reminder that #Policy713 has absolutely no impact on the vast majority of students-its sole purpose is to provide a safe learning space for vulnerable kids.
So @premierbhiggs is so concerned about sex ed in high schools that he is throwing our teachers under the bus but he has no problem showing a movie about horny teenagers at the Sussex drive in as a political fundraiser? Weird…..
Wow, just wow. Thanks @premierbhiggs @pcnbca for taking us back decades. You must be super proud.

Thank you Premier. We should also be notified about any pride event (parties, assemblies, flag raising a etc.) so we can opt or kids out of going to school on those days. The teachers should also not be able to ask our kids “what are your pronouns?” Because it asserts and forces gender ideology
Ladies and gentlemen @Onemainstreet wins the internet today. @pcnbca @premierbhiggs you lost a good one.
Nicely done @pcnbca
Education Minister Bill Hogan changed the province’s gender-identity policy despite an “overwhelming majority of people” telling his department that they prefer the policy be left “unchanged,” new court documents reveal.
Great work by @JournoBarb at @TJProvincial

Blaine Higgs has made so many of us afraid. He has caused confusion, generated misinformation, and misrepresented what parents actually want and kids actually need. In all of this, he benefits from the division he creates. We can’t afford four more years of this type of "leadership". It’s time for a leader who understands that parents and teachers are on the same side- that of their kids.
It’s time for @susanholt to be Premier.

“Parental rights” is a dog whistle for regressive politics that harm and bully 2SLGBTQIA+ students and community members. They are a distraction from other substantial changes the government wants to make that will turn back the clock in NB.

Be clear: Blaine Higgs believes the parental role in education needs to be respected when he agrees with the parents. When he disagrees, there is zero support or respect. Improved ventilation in schools? No comment. Respecting gender diverse youth? Not on his watch.
In case there is any doubt this is what the next five months is going to be like in New Brunswick - more rhetoric, more false claims, more misinformation, more bigotry, more hate. Thanks @premierbhiggs and @pcnbca

With Pride Month coming up, I’d like to talk about this. It’s great to support “love is love” & celebrate that. No doubt. However, queer and trans people ARE in danger. Depending on where you are, that danger can mean a lot of things.
Here in the U.S., there are 515 anti-trans bills circulating in state houses nationwide. Everything from stripping trans people of legal recognition to ridiculous bathroom bills. The GOP has outdone itself during this election year.
We are facing threats, constant demonization, and a growing violence nationwide. Those that are closing their eyes to it need to open them. Injustice is happening as we speak.
Let’s focus less on corporate pride & more on what the true origins of the Pride movement are: resistance & acts of rebellion against the status quo.

“It’s not true that no one is coming to save you. We will rebuild an education system where every single kids lives with dignity and opportunity.” THIS!! This is #leadership where every student matters. @pcnbca @premierbhiggs BE LIKE #NaheedNenshi #policy713 🧡🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
We need to take politics out of our schools. It is possible to build a better education system - one that ensures every single student is set up for economic, social and community success.

👇🏻says I should tag my political representative to take the pledge - here goes nothing - @premierbhiggs 😂
We deserve political leaders who will defend #RainbowEquality and support the rights and freedoms of 2SLGBTQIA+ people in 🇨🇦.
Tag your MP, MPP or city councillor below and invite them to take the pledge with us: rainbowequality.ca/pledge

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Chairman Emeritus, Arthur L. Irving.
On behalf of everyone at Irving Oil, we thank you for the business, Mr. Irving. It’s been an honour.

Everyone’s rights are in danger. Don’t think he won’t come for you. If you’re a member of ANY vulnerable group, a senior, a woman, on a Disability pension, a religious minority … cherry picking our Charter Rights is a very dangerous game. Never forget - “first they came for …”
