Tonight in NYC I went to the newly opened HUMM by Daniel Humm (of Eleven Madison Park fame).
The interior is awesome with a main dining area, lounge, and bar (it’s the old EN Japanese Brasserie space).
Unlike EMP there’s a ton of meat options: hot dogs, fried chicken, crab, duck, lobster.
Overall I’d say the food is good not great and the interior and atmosphere outdoes it. Hard to compete in such a food-strong neighborhood.
Bonus points for matchsticks.
One more SF restaraunt review before heading back to NYC for the week
Last night I went to San Ho Won, a traditional Korean BBQ spot that uses specially produced lychee wood in their charcoal grill
Sat at the bar/chefs counter
I had the galbi mandu - pancaked beef dumplings, beef tartare with Asian pear, and the double cut galbi - a 16oz prime beef short rib that’s been brushed with marinade before going into the charcoal grill. Sweet, super tender, and great with the ssamjang and gosujang sauces
Also they had matchbooks at the host stand, which are essential, and will be added to my ever growing collection
Another SF restaurant review, this time: Cotogna
Cotogna is one of my favorite restaraunts in SF. Pasta is great, atmosphere and service is even better. Sit outside and you get a blanket and heated seating.
Hard to get a res but just walk in and you’ll get bar seats or outdoor 9/10 times.
Spoken like someone who hasn’t seen the inside of Drake’s house
I first met Josh 5 years ago when he was building Mentum - a kiosk system for restaurants. We quickly became friends - citibiking home at 2am after karaoke
Incredibly excited about how far he's come and what he's building with Mecka

the final user interface is now fairly clear, or at least more clear than ever before:
language (text / voice) in → intelligence → text/voice out or generated interface out (if needed) → repeat.
i suspect this is likely going to be the default in how you will interact with every computing device / agent you ever interact with in the future. in every single context.
