Irvington one of few spots in city with that cache, long history, streets named after authors, events built around a time a year. But culture is not just a sense of community. Irvington developed its cultural cache from leaning into an identity — mind you, originally as a suburb. Irvington = halloween and spooks. Not sure many other places in Marion County outside Speedway compete on culture.

The General Assembly must change the law to allow media to witness executions in Indiana.
Media witnesses say Tennessee officials were unable to carry out the execution of Christa Gail Pike for a 1995 murder on Wednesday.
Pike was still alive and breathing after two rounds of lethal injections on Wednesday night, according to her attorney.
