I wasn’t seeking a partner, wife or even gf when I met my wife.
I was messing around with a few different women at the time, waiting for the end of June 2021 to get there so I could leave TN for good, having already accepted a job in Maryland, lost my best friend in December 2020, needed a fresh start.
My wife messaged me on bumble about baseball and sports in Late April. We talked on the phone for like 4 hours a few nights in a row. And then we finally hung out. We hung out for 3 nights in a row, and then she had to help her best friend move out to Cali for two weeks. A very long two weeks. I told her I wasn’t looking and that I was moving to MD in June. She pushed the fuck it button and applied for a lead neuro RN role at John’s Hopkins. She got a call back 24 hours after applying. She had her in person job shadow the week after she came back from Cali, and decided to road trip with me up to MD to take my first load of stuff to the new apt. We never spent a day apart again. Proposed in front of her and my family the last day we were in TN in June. Married that same October.
Love finds you, you don’t find it.
Shaquille O'Neal pays emotional tribute to Ernie Johnson following his retirement announcement
"When I was a youngster, there were three guys as a basketball fan I loved to hear talk: Bill Raftery, Dick Vitale, and Ernie Johnson."
"I got the opportunity to come here and work for you, and I only came here because you were here. You are the controller of this thing people call a circus."
"Without you, it's going to be very, very difficult. I never thought this day would happen."
"I appreciate you, I love you, and thank you. We've had a lot of great years together, and thank you for everything, brother."

If that’s his last outing of the year, what an amazing season for Bryan Baker.
41 regular season saves. 1.44 ERA.
10 postseason innings. 0 runs allowed.
One of the best relief pitching seasons in Rays history.

The Rays made a heck of a run in 2026. The team was given just a 1.1% chance to make the World Series at the start of the season and made it all the way to the Fall Classic. There, they ran into a Brewers team that swept the back-to-back World Series champion Dodgers and just won the first championship in franchise history. Milwaukee had the National League Cy Young award winner in Jacob Misiorowski and two of the best World Series performances ever from 22-year-olds in Jackson Chourio and Cooper Pratt, while William Contreras was unstoppable. We don't know what's ahead for the 2027 season, but it was so fun watching the Tampa Bay Rays compete this year. With the talent already on the roster and how deep their farm system is, this team is going to be good for a very long time. Thank you guys for supporting my work this season.

Well, this is the end of the road for @RaysBaseball in 2026.
Congratulations to the Brewers. As painful as it is to say, you were the best team in the postseason and deserved to win the series.
It’s easy to be angry right now and point fingers. I’m not going to do that. Absolutely no one expected anything out of the Rays this season. They exceeded every expectation. It was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it.
Of course, I’m disappointed with how it ended, but I guarantee you the players and coaches are more disappointed than we are. Only one team can truly be happy at the end of the season.
The future is very bright. New owners. A new @RaysForeverHome. Maybe a rebranding of some kind? And a young, talented team that will only get better with time.
Thank you, Rays, for a great 2026 season. See you in 2027!

Good game and good series to Milwaukee. It was great to see my team in it.
And Milwaukee has some great guys on that team.

The Yankees, losers in the ALDS, are really talking about players in the World Series ?

The Atlantic is the only NHL division without a single club under .500 points percentage:
Boston, .792
TB, .682
Ottawa, .667
Montreal, .636
Florida, .583
Toronto, .571
Detroit, .542
Buffalo, .500
I really did not understand pulling Drew that early given you discussed it with him and he was good to start.
48 pitches. Win or go home. 🥲

Not too long ago, you’d have to ask restaurants to turn on Rays games. Seeing a concentration of people wearing Rays gear meant you were probably at a game.
Those days are long gone.
That’s what these types of seasons do.
We’ve been blessed with so many of them since 2008.
Went to dinner in the neighborhood and squeezed in a fun Halloween event, before running back home for Game 5.
We started counting how many people were wearing Rays hats, jerseys or shirts. We lost count. Easily over 100 just from our table.
Every restaurant we walked by had the game on.
Yes, this is absolutely how it should be, but this area is saturated with non-natives who’ve relocated and kept their existing allegiance.
The fanbase is still the youngest in baseball, having only existed since 1998, but it’s growing and growing fast. So is the passion and the pride.
That’s what these types of seasons do.
The difference in this series is Milwaukee getting their RISP to score.
We have failed to do so VERY often.

Former Rays in attendance last night: Evan Longoria, Carlos Peña, Carl Crawford, Kevin Kiermaier, Brett Phillips, Chris Archer, Tyler Glasnow, Pete Fairbanks, Zach Eflin. It’s probably also safe to assume Matt Joyce and Grant Balfour were there as Rays TV employees, BJ Upton has been at many postseason games this year, Randy Arozarena came to the ALCS, James Shields and Joe Maddon were at the game Monday. Former Rays LOVE their country TAMPA BAY 🥰

Man, people really don’t get Tampa.
Tampa is a sports tourism city.
Example: Packer fans flock to Tampa for sun and a mini-vacay when the Packers play the Bucs.
Tampa is also a city where only 1/3 of population is FROM Tampa.
So there will always be transplants that want to go see their “first love” team.
I’ve lived in Chicago, NYC, Philly.
Tampa is as good a sports town as the others, but people see Cub fans en masse when Rays and Cubs play and think “Tampa is a bad sports town”. That’s lazy and uneducated.
Also, Rays ain’t dead yet!

Heupel is 4th in the SEC in winning percentage against Top-25 teams.
Replying to @ReedCarringer
Stop with the 51 wins. 17 are the likes of Furman, Kennesaw St, Ball St, Akron, ETSU, UAB, UTSA UTEP, etc.
