Perhaps many are ignorant of the fact that the Royal Navy spent many years and much money and blood fighting the slave trade. A story ignored by @BBCWorld & @guardian. Depicted here are HMS Brisk and Emanuela. Capture of slave ship, also known as Manuela.

The BBC is broken. Another reason why a Reform UK government will scrap the licence fee.
The BBC has agreed a ยฃ400,000 payout to a Jewish documentary-maker who says she was the victim of anti-Semitism and was bullied out of the broadcaster. ๐Ÿ”—: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10โ€ฆ

I have been married to a medical student who became a junior doctor, then a registrar, went on fellowship with him (and our kids), he is now a consultant of 10 years + butโ€ฆ โ€ฆ in all that time, (25+ years) I know nothing about the journey and pay of a doctor? Iโ€™ve considered that possibility that may not be sufficiently informed and my answer to that is NO. Iโ€™ve lived it with him for practically my entire adult life. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Love sent to Israel from Somaliland. Thank you my friend.

I sincerely wish for the electoral process to conclude peacefully, transparently, and democratically, reflecting the free will of the Israeli electorate. May this election advance the aspirations, prosperity, security, and long-term national interests of the people and the State of Israel. As a Somalilander politician and Member of the Central Council of the opposition KULMIYE Party, I firmly believe that free, fair, and credible elections are fundamental pillars of democratic governance, political accountability, and national progress. The Republic of Somaliland understands the value of this democratic principle through its own experience. We have conducted nine major elections based on the principle of โ€œOne Person, One Vote,โ€ demonstrating our peopleโ€™s enduring commitment to peaceful political participation, constitutional governance, and the democratic transfer of power. Somalilandโ€™s electoral experience has earned international recognition and distinguished our democratic journey within the Horn of Africa and across the African continent. Former U.S. Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ambassador @TiborPNagyJr has publicly advocated for Somalilandโ€™s inclusion in international democratic initiatives, highlighting its democratic achievements and the importance of recognising its progress. Similarly, @SenatorRisch/ @SenateForeign has discussed the distinctions between Somaliland and Somalia in the context of U.S. policy, including the need to reconsider the longstanding โ€œOne Somaliaโ€ approach in favour of a more pragmatic policy that takes Somalilandโ€™s democratic record and political reality into account. As Israel exercises its democratic right to choose its parliamentary representatives, Somaliland stands as a compelling example of a people who have consistently pursued their political aspirations through the ballot box, peaceful participation, and democratic institutions. May this election usher in a future of peace, prosperity, security, and democratic progress for Israel and its people. May the democratic aspirations of the people of Somaliland likewise receive the international recognition and respect they deserve.

An Army veteran has reportedly been turned away from a Wetherspoon pub in Gosport for wearing a poppy. Footage has emerged of a British Army veteran being refused entry to The Star. A member of staff tells him the poppy is โ€œpoliticalโ€ and that he will not be served while wearing it. The incident is alleged to have taken place in Gosport, a town currently grappling with anti-immigration protests. In footage shared on Facebook, a doorman can be heard saying: โ€œReally sorry mate, you canโ€™t come in with a poppy Iโ€™m afraid. Itโ€™s political.โ€ He tells the veteran he can re-enter if he removes the poppy and puts it in his pocket, but warns him not to put it back on inside or he will be asked to leave and refused service. A Wetherspoon spokesperson said: โ€œWetherspoon has long been a supporter of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, with poppies for sale in our pubs, including The Star. There is no ban on poppies in Wetherspoon pubs.โ€ Read more below ๐Ÿ‘‡

The small boats being blamed on Brexit is a weather vane for me to spot those who actually think and look at facts v those who follow the herd and spout misinformation to suit their narrative.
Andy Burnham is proven to be talking rubbish on Brexit and small boats by his own Home Secretary. She knows what she is talking about. He does not. Are they even talking to each other?

A Nukhba Force cell commander and a Hamas sniper were among 4 operatives killed in Gaza strikes Saturday and Sunday. The other 2 belonged to Islamic Jihad. A northern Gaza building used as a sniper position was also destroyed Sunday. The IDF accuses all 4 of advancing attacks on troops and civilians "in systematic violation of the ceasefire."

When Israelis go to the polls tomorrow, in their first election since the atrocities of October 7, Andy Burnham and his zealous sidekick, foreign secretary Ed Miliband, will be hoping for one result above all: that Benjamin Netanyahu survives. That way, they can carry on using him as an alibi for their hostility to the Jewish state, their pandering to the hard-Left and their wrecking of our relationship with one of Britainโ€™s most valuable intelligence partners. Am I exaggerating? Perhaps. But there can be little doubt that, when it comes to Israel, this government has stopped acting in good faith, and sees the relationship chiefly as a lever of domestic advantage for the Labour party. Otherwise, why the endless condemnations of the Middle Eastโ€™s only democracy, set against the scant criticism of Iran and the forces of jihad that threaten our people at home? Why recognise a โ€œPalestinian stateโ€ last year without first demanding the release of the hostages (Hamas kidnapped British citizens too, donโ€™t forget)? Why did Ed Miliband reportedly greet the Iranian foreign minister warmly at the United Nations last month, while snubbing Israeli officials? Why the sanctions on Israel, which may endanger our relationship with Mossad, even as an Israeli tip-off is reported to have foiled a plot against RAF Fairford only a couple of weeks ago? Why does the foreign secretary never miss an opportunity to wag his finger at Jerusalem? The answer is simple... New post. Link in first reply

The BBC has become a hostile environment against Jewish people. This shameful case raises serious questions for the Director General, who must explain how and why Jewish staff have been subjected to such appalling racism and what urgent action he will take to end this corrosive culture across the BBC. The BBC has ceased to be a bastion of high quality impartial news. Instead it has become synonymous with promoting anti semitism, refusing to report facts and shamefully censoring truth. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10โ€ฆ
