On doit tous faire notre part.» ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle… #polqc

This is a real "the American mind cannot comprehend this" moment Large, automated transit expansion built extremely cheap by US standards. Train frequencies every **85 seconds** If it hits projections, line 14 could exceed total ridership of the DC Metro & Chicago L combined
1/4 Line 14 extension just opened today in Paris! ➡️ 15.7 km / 9.8 miles ➡️ 8 new stations ➡️ 1 million passengers/day ➡️ Fully driverless trains with frequencies up to 85 seconds ➡️ 6 years of construction ➡️ Cost: €2.8 billion (€178M per km) / $3.0 billion (no cost overrun)

A game changer for our capital & our country 🚇 Two years since it opened, here’s how the Elizabeth line has become the fastest-growing line in the UK: 💜 700,000 journeys made every weekday 💜 Demand up by 40% 💜 Added an estimated £42bn to the UK economy

📹 @jan_kamensky teapawt.net/jan_kamensky/status/16…

High Speed Rail is pro-family. This is 10x better than taking a regional flight with kids.

With 5,000 underground spaces at 100% capacity most times of the day, the need for bike storage at Rotterdam Centraal is spilling onto the street. A growing demand for sustainable transport induced by great infrastructure, parking, and rail service. Almost too simple, isn’t it? – at Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Lowie Vermeersch, an ex-Ferrari designer now creating a microcar: "Moving an 80-kilo person with 2.5 tonnes of material is not something we should consider as the best we can do, especially in an urban environment." He's right! dezeen.com/2024/01/17/lowie-…

Carbon capture is really funny because the best and largest carbon capture facility in the world can offset the emissions from about 850 cars, PER YEAR. You could do that, or you could paint some quality bike lanes and run 2 or 3 extra trains per hour for a greater impact. – at St Louis, MO

Using an electric car in an urban setting is incredibly wasteful from an energy and resource perspective. Branding EV pickup trucks as climate-friendly is nothing more than corporate greenwashing.
