Beyond the news of human-animal conflicts, happy to share this example of human-animal harmonious existence.
A train in Jharkhand waited for two hours as an elephant delivered her calf. The 📹 shows how the two later walked on happily.
Following a whole-of government approach, @MOEFCC and @RailMinIndia have identified more the 110 sensitive spots by surveying 3,500 km of railway tracks in the country. It is lovely to see the efforts producing such heart-warming results.
Special kudos to @JharkhandVan officials for their sensitivity which helped the elephant deliver her young one.

Today lost my maternal grandmother from Covid.
They were seven sisters & had six children. During festivals her house use to be full of grandchildren, kids & other village folks. Calm & soft.
During her last moment nobody could touch her. Such is the scar this virus is leaving.

And that's how the entire ORIGINAL #forest species of hardwood #Trees were shipped to #England😕 Now we have an artificial #Teak forest across many ranges in the Ghats. Imagine how the forests would've looked if it was filled with trees like the #KannimaraTeak in #Parambikulam 😍
