The Free Speech Union exposed that all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the official definition of Islamophobia had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND.
The Working Group held a consultation so people could help shape what became the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Given the public interest, the FSU asked which groups and individuals had been consulted.
Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy submitted a Freedom of Information request. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) replied that it had deleted all the responses — in what appears to be against the Government’s own data policy.
The FSU then threatened Angela Rayner’s department with legal action.
Now the department’s most senior civil servant says the responses do exist and remain on its data system, but the department will not disclose who was consulted.
So what is going on? Were we told the responses had been deleted to conceal the fact that Islamist extremists had the chance to influence the definition?
We are now told that an Islamophobia tsar will be announced imminently. Given Rayner and her department’s record, who on earth could it be?

UPDATE:
I am advised that the £7.7 billion figure is not per year. But over 4 years!
So our 'Liberal Democrat' friend is prepared to sell us all back into the EU for less than 0.2% of our annual trade.
About enough to keep the NHS in business until Tuesday teatime.
That's how highly she values our democracy..and her place as an MP in it.
Selling out her country for less than 2 billion pounds a year

Przewodniczący Komisji nazywa to „unią oszczędności i inwestycji”.
Wielomilionowe kwoty wypłacano zaprzyjaźnionym doradcom bez przeprowadzenia przetargów, a obciążające wiadomości i czaty zostały skasowane.
Aby zbadać te zarzuty, Bundestag powołał komisję śledczą, jednak przed groźbą diony uciekła pani – pani von der Leyen – uciekając samolotem do Brukseli, gdzie została pochwalona przez Angelę Merkel.

It seems obvious to me that the pathetic little man on the left is prepared to do the nasty things to the people of this country that the pathetic little man on the right didn’t have the stomach for, it’s going to get much worse !

The British public are, by and large a pretty polite bunch and will put up with a lot. But there comes a point where enough is enough. For decades, communities have watched their industries vanish or be sold off; infrastructures crumbling; villages, towns and cities being hollowed out; basic essentials becoming hideously expensive; taxes continually going up and community spirit disappearing.
Britain has been destroyed, dismantled, closed down and sold off to multinational corporations. Britain has become a fire sale of national assets and the British public have paid a heavy price.
But it’s pretty clear that the British public have had enough of being treated like suckers by successive governments who are more in thrall to funnelling assets and wealth to their corporate cronies than serving those who pay their wages - the people.
Our entire political system is rotten to the core and it’s time for a new form of politics - for the people rather than for corporate greed at our expense.
Almost every public service and infrastructure is crumbling. Millions of people are really struggling to survive the cost of living crisis and many are slipping into bankruptcy, bad health, poverty and homelessness. NHS waiting lists are at record levels of over 7 million people facing treatment delays. Farmers are being fleeced by the supermarkets. Small businesses are going bankrupt at record levels. The high street is dying. School buildings are unfit for purpose. The care homes sector is a total mess. Utility services are completely crap, but household and business utility payments have become extortionate.
But nothing ever gets done to fix any of this.
Yet our government continues to spend £billions of our tax money putting up illegal migrants in hotels, issuing dodgy contracts to corporations, net zero targets and throwing money at Ukraine.
And then to rub salt into the wounds, the government punishes everyone with horrendous levels of taxation and finds numerous ways to create a surveillance society and reduce our freedoms.
It’s a wilful government piss take of the people they are supposed to prioritise - namely, the people who fund them - British taxpaying citizens. It’s completely unacceptable. We are paying them to repeatedly punish us, while at the same time, the biggest transfer of wealth history to the super-rich is happening right under our noses.
Millions of people right across Britain are all saying the same thing right now: Enough is enough.

We're told that schools need to get 14-15 year-olds ready to vote at 16. Has the government thought through the problem of teachers who are political activists canvassing pupils for votes? And what about the obvious contradiction in expecting pupils to independently research who to vote for and the government's social media bans for teens? At the end, I responded to the minister telling me not to worry as 16 year olds will be allowed to get info from TRUSTED sources. Trusted by who? If this is a big expansion of democracy, why is there no impact assessment or proper engagement with criticism?

As I said about Starmer's reset deal in 2025 "by agreeing to dynamic alignment rather than mutual recognition on SPS issues, this agreement will cause legal conflicts with our trade agreements with other countries, notably Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the CPTPP group."
Burnham’s dire EU Reset Deal looks like it could have dire consequences for the UK’s trade relations with other countries
The UK aligning with the EU on SPS & emissions appears to be incompatible with our membership of the CPTPP, which requires us to have regulatory autonomy
Is this part of a wider plan to rip up the UK’s trade relationships outside the EU or did Labour not realise the 2nd order consequences of the deal?
It could be either quite frankly

Calling Labour's new EU trade deal a "reset" is a joke. It's a backdoor SURRENDER of British sovereignty that turns us into rule-takers with zero say.
17.4 million people didn't vote for Brexit just to let politicians hand control back to Brussels!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH 🇬🇧
Danny Kruger opened today’s press conference with a calm and authoritative presence. He has all the qualities of a future leader.
He set out how Britain is broken and how those in charge are detached from ordinary life. He scoffed John Healey for resigning over underfunded defence only to underfund it again now that he is Chancellor.

What started as trade and cooperation turned into unelected commissioners rewriting national law, punishing governments that refuse to line up, and selling every new power grab as "European and democratic values".
The EU is not a union of free countries. It's a TOTALITARIAN system calling itself a democracy.
