Nothing - we have 3 under 3 and are in heaven. It’s hard, and I’m happy to admit we planned on two and the third was a surprise.
Now that he’s here tho, it’s crazy to imagine we may not have had him. Incredibly blessed it just happened.
And as far as money or lifestyle go we’ll just figure it out. I’m a solo GP of a small fund so you can napkin math the mgmt fees, I’m not loaded (yet™️). Either way, no material desires or “flexibility” can compare to the kiddos - also, they are very clarifying and motivating when it comes to work.
I think another advantage for us is that we got married in our early 20s so we grew up together, formed values together, and didn’t really have any competing interests or time to dwell on life that would be “compromised” by having kids.
Oh and we’re homeschooling them while they’re young (and maybe beyond depending on each one’s desire) so we have plenty of time with them.
I highly recommend having 3+ kids to all happy couples!!
I posted this on a founder parent GC and wanted to get a take on Twitter:
What’s stopping you from having at least 3+ kids?
I’ve been a single dad with full custody of two boys for over four years. I pay myself $60k/year in Saratoga, CA. My parents help once a week and cover work trips, but the day-to-day is on me. During that time, I also co-founded Make Sunsets, which made national news and was featured on The Daily Show. I want more kids, and the only thing stopping me is the right woman. But for most people in this chat you have the right person, right?
I’m curious: is it money, childcare, career, wanting more freedom, or just feeling your family is complete?
And no, this isn’t customer discovery. My “solution” would be telling everyone to shut down their startup, get a FAANG job, and have more kids. I just want smart people making more kids, and I'm trying understand why you don't.
moderate democrat dad in CA:
>voted for Mahan in primary
>votes for Becerra in general, has “no other choice”
>daughter shoots first basket
>takes her to a valkyries game
>she loves it and starts playing more
>she becomes the star player
>a boy ends her winning streak
>she cries, dad doesn’t know what to do
>puts her in therapy
>votes for Becerra again
>repeat
You may have America confused with somewhere else Andy
Nobody here wants all public spaces to be recorded by a swarm of your devices
Sincerely, fuck off.
Excited about our new Bee devices launching today. They turn your conversations into summaries, to-dos, and reminders, so the details are there when you need them.
Bee Frontier goes on your wrist or clips to your clothing, and Bee Eclipse snaps to the back of your phone to catch what you'd otherwise forget throughout your day, whether it's notes from a class you're taking, the details of a trip you're planning, or an idea that comes to you in the car.
They connect to Alexa+ and Amazon.com, so the things you mention are easy to find later. And you're always in control…one button turns it on or off, a light shows when it's on, audio is never stored, and only you can see your data.
Think folks are gonna find this really handy. aboutamazon.com/news/devices…

"We believe things should just be normal: the schools and the trains should be great, and their budgets should be balanced, the mentally ill drug addicts should be cared for in facilities safely removed from the public, the business climate should be open and free, it should be inexpensive to build in the city, anti-housing policies should be eradicated, and crime should be illegal."

The affirmative case for Connie is that if she wins, Lurie will get to appoint a sensible supervisor in a district that has been hard to win for a long time.
And if you don’t like her policies, she is extremely incompetent and will accomplish nothing, so nbd.
Connie for SF!
I have been blocking out politics lately to focus on my fund but this is the BEST guide for SF voters with a brain this November.
sanity, safety, housing, fiscal responsibility, parental rights, school choice, and more can all be yours if you don't vote for Becerra.
It's that easy.
