Don't forget the role reversal at the end of the movie ...
I watched this yesterday and found it really good. I'd wondered how I'd not heard of it and then saw the year. 2013 was probably the worst year of my life. The movies that were coming out at that time were the furthest thing from my mind.

I worked with Claude this morning to fine-tune the levels on my input microphone as well as the noise floor for knowing when there's actual silence. I'm not saying I will be chatty, but it certainly beats trying to type with just my left hand. I have a couple of weeks left before I can remove the arm sling.

My laptop's newest wallpaper. Thanks to @LFODCandles. 99% likely being AI, but that's fine. I still find it 😁. It's inspired by the recent news that our neighbor to the north, Canadia, wants to increase its immigration numbers even higher.
Saw this video and it reminded me of my first home ... in Nashua.
It was located on the outside of a descending curve. In winter cars would unexpectedly lose traction and ride up my lawn, granite curbs be damned. Often came close to my cars on the driveway.
After that 1st winter (we'd moved in in Dec), that summer I bought my 1st dual stage snowblower.
After every storm I'd throw snow from the street just inside the curb and build up a decent snow "wall" about 3+ feet high. Snow from my sidewalk reinforced it from the other side.
From then on out, my wife and I would hear an occasional late night "thud" as cars would hit the snow wall, back up, and proceed more carefully down the road. 😏

Nobody wanted to loot a bookstore? Don't they know the value inside of books?! As we were taught in the 80's, "knowledge is power!"

Wait for it. Read the whole thing. Plot twist.
I'm getting a sick and tired of people knocking electric cars when they clearly don't know what they're talking about.
I own two top-of-the-range EVs: a Jaguar and a Porsche.
The acceleration is incredible, the handling is superb, and they both look fantastic. Running costs are pennies, maintenance is practically non-existent, and neither has lost a penny in value since I bought ‘em.
Honestly, my only complaint is that if I take a corner a bit too enthusiastically, they fly off the track and disappear under the sofa.
Been using Linux since the mid 1990's and never knew this cool back door *option* existed...
But then ... I'm not a kernel dev either.

One upside of the new model is its Bluetooth connection to your phone. Not sure why they didn't have it in the 10. 🤷🏼♂️
@Resmed has mobile apps so you can track your sleep history/progress. In the 10 you had to wait about an hour until your machine auto-uploaded the previous night's sleep (via cellular) to them. Then the apps could reflect the previous night.
Now the app can just use Bluetooth to get immediate feedback without waiting on ResMed's servers. Wake up, open the app, see how it went. (apnea events, leaks, time, etc.)
After seven+ years with a @Resmed AirSense 10 (CPAP), which recently self proclaimed its end of design life, tonight will be my first night with its replacement, an AirSense 11.
Insert obligatory "this one goes to eleven” movie quote. 😏
My goodness ... the word salad! As if the synthesized pronouns weren't enough!
I am so glad we have such a wide variety of Linux distributions and coding languages out there. It lets a mix of ideas work themselves out in the open.
Next week, the Open Source Initiative (OSI) is hosting the “Open Technology Research Symposium”.
The first session is a “Fireside Chat” with Sasha Costanza-Chock. “Sasha” identifies as a “nonbinary trans* femme”, seeking to “dismantle the matrix of domination” through “design justice”.
When the Open Source Initiative says they are changing their mission… this is an indication of what they are talking about.
As I was setting this up, I started to think of the various things now that speak to my phone via Bluetooth.
Sure, there's various earbuds and headphones.
My cars -- no surprise.
Headset for talking while driving, esp with the car's top down and the noise involved.
Because of Samsung's amazing DeX, also a keyboard and mouse.
My Samsung Watch 9.
My Oura health Ring 5.
My Withings blood pressure cuff.
I can send audio to my bedroom Roku/TV.
My Fuji camera.
Smart Tags located in my work bag, in case of misplacement or being stolen.
I could, but don't, with my old electric toothbrush.
I could, but don't, with my treadmill desk.
More recently...
A reTerminal eInk gadget/gizmo for tinkering
My electric chessboard
and now my CPAP machine.
I'm sure I've probably forgotten some.
25 years ago I spent a week in the UK on a deep dive for our then new-to-us Bluetooth hardware IP. Being a USB guy I found the logic for Bluetooth to be enormously over-complicated for a 1 megabit connection.
Fast forward a quarter century. Both USB and Bluetooth are still everywhere! On the plus side, the number/variety of color coded connectors on a computer has gone way, way down.

Wow! They haven't had nearly as much as Europe or the US, and they've already had enough of illegals diluting their Japanese culture.

In the past I've made Julia's Doritos Taco Salad and it's a fave with my Twinz. I just supervise as they assemble the layers in a giant salad bowl. Little did I know that Julia seems to have a thing for Doritos. Not sure my PCP would approve though... 🤔😏
Back in the 1980's we built "supercomputers", like the Cray. Costing millions, one might ask "who on earth can afford these except some special interests".
Now folks carry in their pockets devices that blow those Crays away while sipping on batteries.
You have to start somewhere. The early Teslas were rich men's toys. Now they even sell taxis.
When I was a boy, the microwave oven was a new'ish luxury. By the time I went to college, most dorm rooms had a small one.
Lather, rinse, repeat...
