On this day in 1963, Lee Oswald turned 24.
His wife, Marina, and a couple of friends, threw a small surprise party for him.
"Marina remembered that Lee was so touched that he had tears in his eyes. He was emotional the remainder of the evening, crying and apologizing to Marina for what he had put her through."
Oswald had started a new job two days earlier at the Texas School Book Depository in downtown Dallas. Two days after his birthday party, Marina went into labor and the Oswalds' second daughter was born.
JFK's visit to Dallas was just a month away.

Does anybody else feel like life never really went back to normal after 2020?
And I’m not talking about masks, lockdowns, or any of the political debates. I mean the feeling of life itself.
Everything technically returned to "normal." The stores reopened. The roads got busy again. People went back to work. Life kept moving.
But something still feels different.
The years seem to pass faster than ever. Friendships feel more distant. Conversations feel shorter. People seem more distracted, more exhausted, and less present.
It’s hard to explain because nothing obvious is missing.
Yet somehow it feels like we lost something important along the way.
Life used to feel slower. More connected. More genuine. There was a sense of optimism, excitement, and possibility that’s difficult to describe now.
Maybe we're all just getting older.
Or maybe 2020 changed people in ways we're still trying to understand.
I can't put my finger on exactly what was lost.
I just know that life used to feel a lot more alive than it does today.

JFK once invited to dinner 49 Nobel laureates, Robert Frost, William Styron, Ernest Hemingway, James Baldwin, Katherine Anne Porter, John Dos Passos, James Farrell and Lionel and Diana Trilling, and others. His line on the occasion became famous: “I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House—with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Some of you were alive when that happened.

I would say this is probably the greatest joke ever written for the sheer fact of how many times your Dad or Granddad has said this line when an ambulance or Police car goes by with its sirens on

6 March 1975. Film of 1963 JFK assassination by Abraham Zapruder was shown on Goodnight America on ABC Television in the USA for the 1st time. Viewers were shocked as the film seemed to indicate the fatal shot had not come from behind, but from the grassy knoll.
Well researched short documentary about the start of Scouting. ⚜️
